The role is office based – the successful person will act as the voice of the customer and stakeholders for the R&D team. VITEC's IPTV platforms offer very robust video streaming capability with minimal maintenance costs. About The Role As part of the R&D team, reporting to the local Head of R&D, the Product Owner manages the product backlog for the development of the central server that manages and controls the entire IP video and digital signage systems. This includes creating, maintaining and tracking all tasks associated with new features, changes to existing features, handling defects and bugs to be fixed. The Product Owner is an essential communication asset between the Product Manager (and sometimes the customer) and the R&D team. The Product Owner focuses on internal inbound needs and is the key to translating the Product Management roadmap to a successful deliverable in terms of feature set and time to market. What You'll Do Product Requirements: Translate stakeholder needs and product strategy from Product Management into actionable user stories, requirements and acceptance criteria for the R&D team via the R&D tool (Jira). Prioritize Development Work: Create and maintain the feature backlog, prioritize items based on the product roadmap to ensure the product delivers the highest possible business value. Product backlog management: Ensure work in progress meets product requirements through acceptance and UX criteria, guiding changes as needed before and after completion. Work Closely with Development Team: Guide the development team on how to build features and interactions using domain knowledge and set development priorities in accordance with the product roadmap and R&D process and technologies. Ensure Development Process Compliance and Transparent reporting: Collaborate with the development team leads and Program Manager to ensure the process is followed, and deadlines are met. Report any deviation compared to initial plans and ensure all stakeholders are informed. Requisitos About You You'll have: Experience Experience in either product ownership, product management, business analysis, or a related field. Knowledge A strong understanding of how users interact with the products, insight into product development, user needs and stakeholder management. Knowledge of Agile, Scrum and similar product development approaches and you'll also understand product life cycles, road maps and strategy. Skills Detail oriented and execution driven. Negotiation: manage competing priorities and stakeholder demands. Leadership: guide teams and influence stakeholders (without direct line management). Communication: the ability to communicate complex systems and ideas across R&D and Product Management departments. Decision‐making: the ability to make timely and effective decisions based on product goals and customer needs. Empathy: Understanding and advocating for customer needs. Focus: the ability to prioritize and manage the product backlog and avoid distractions.
