Game Systems Designer
We are seeking a skilled Game Systems Designer to join our team. As a key member of our development team, you will be responsible for designing and balancing core game systems, political factions, social classes, economy, public opinion, unrest, elections, and policies.
Key Responsibilities:
* System Design: Design and balance game mechanics to create engaging and challenging experiences.
* Collaboration: Work closely with programmers and artists to integrate your systems, tune them, and keep them consistent across scenarios.
* Research: Conduct research into politics, history, and economics to ground systems in believable dynamics.
* Playtesting: Run or support playtests to identify exploits and dominant strategies, and improve clarity, tension, and pacing.
This is a remote position that requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently. You will have the opportunity to work on our debut title, State of Affairs, a political strategy game about managing power, social groups, and crises.
Requirements:
* 2+ years of experience in game design or a related field.
* Strong understanding of game mechanics and systems design.
* Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
* Able to conduct research and analyze data.
* Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects.
