Job Summary The Senior Accountant is responsible for leading monthly and year‐end closing activities with the support of the record‐to‐report (RTR) supervisor and lead. This role functionally leads junior and intermediate accountants, ensuring accurate accounting and financial reporting. The Senior Accountant is also closely involved in closing process improvements and cross‐functional collaboration to optimise general ledger and closing processes.Key ResponsibilitiesLead the timely monthly, quarterly and year‐end financial closing and reporting of your scope on SAP S4 Hana and IBM Cognos (consolidation) supported by junior and intermediate accountants: reconciliation of accounts, general ledger entries, cost allocations, accruals/provisions, etc.Provide guidance to junior and intermediate accountants on your scope and share tasks effectively, with the support of the RTR supervisor and lead.Perform monthly internal controls and quarterly sustainability reporting on STG's internal tools (Impero / Enablon).Tackle more complex accounting tasks and issues with the support of the RTR supervisor and lead.Actively participate in closing process improvement by proposing ideas for process optimisations or the use of new SAP features or automations, with the support of the RTR supervisor and lead.Qualifications & Experience7–8 years of accounting experience with at least 4–5 years of closing & reporting experience and general ledger reconciliations.Experience with SAP (preferably SAP S/4 HANA) and good Excel skills.Strong understanding of financial accounting and reporting, local GAAP and IFRS principles.Experience with a consolidation tool (HFM, Cognos, Onestream, etc.) is a bonus but optional.Willingness to teach and share knowledge with more junior accountants.A proactive builder mindset with a taste for process improvement and optimisation.English is required; Portuguese is optional.
