The Role
At Kyniska, we're looking for a Senior QA Analyst who is a critical thinker and a powerful advocate for our users. You'll become an expert on the features and functionalities of KYNISKA perform hands-on testing across web and mobile platforms, and work alongside our engineering and product teams to help evolve how we ship software.
This role goes beyond running through test cases. You'll think like a customer, break things on purpose, and own the quality of every release that reaches our users. That may mean catching regressions before they ship, validating new feature behavior across the full integration matrix (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, YouTube, Threads, Bluesky, X, Pinterest, Reddit, Snapchat, Google Business, and more), or pushing back on engineering when something isn't ready.
This role is best suited for someone who enjoys digging into how a product actually works and behaves under real conditions, rather than simply executing predefined test scripts.
You'll partner directly with developers, designers, and product to validate functionality, file actionable bug reports, and help shape the testing standards we build the team around. You'll also be a key voice in release decisions — the person who can confidently say "this is ready" or "this isn't."
We're looking for someone who is naturally curious, methodical, and takes ownership of quality rather than treating it as someone else's problem. The best candidates for this role enjoy figuring out how systems break, spotting patterns across issues, and helping improve both the testing process and the product itself.

What you'll do
Hands-On Feature Testing: Test new features and updates end-to-end across web and mobile before they ship. Validate both happy paths and edge cases, and confirm behavior matches the intended design and product spec.
Regression Testing: Maintain and execute regression suites across our highest-impact workflows (publishing, scheduling, inbox, listening, reporting, advocacy, and integrations) to ensure new releases don't break existing functionality.
Cross-Platform & Cross-Network Validation: Test features across browsers, devices, operating systems, and the full set of supported social networks. Understand the quirks of each network and validate that our behavior holds up against their real-world API responses.
Bug Identification & Reporting: Identify, reproduce, and document bugs with clear steps, expected vs. actual behavior, screenshots or screen recordings, environment details, and impact assessment. File reports that engineers can act on without follow-up questions.
Critical Thinking Under Ambiguity: Evaluate situations independently and make sound judgment calls when specs are unclear or behavior is unexpected. Know when to flag, when to dig deeper, and when to escalate.
Pattern Recognition & Risk Surfacing: Look beyond individual bugs to identify recurring failure patterns, fragile workflows, or areas of the product that need stronger test coverage. Proactively raise quality risks before they reach customers.
Release Readiness: Be a trusted voice in go/no-go decisions. Communicate quality risks clearly to engineering, product, and leadership so the team can make informed shipping calls.
Test Documentation & Process: Build and maintain test plans, test cases, and testing checklists that scale with the product. Help evolve our QA process as the team grows.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with developers during feature development, with product on spec clarification, and with customer support to investigate and reproduce reported issues.
Customer Advocacy: Represent the user's perspective in every test. Catch the things customers would notice — clunky UX, confusing error states, broken edge cases — before they ever do.

What We're Looking For
Experience: 4+ years of hands-on QA experience in a SaaS or web/mobile product environment, with demonstrated experience testing complex, integration-heavy products rather than simple CRUD applications. You've owned QA for full release cycles, not just executed test cases handed to you.
Analytical Problem Solving: Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to investigate unexpected behavior methodically, isolate variables, and reproduce issues reliably.
Hands-On Testing Skill: Deep comfort testing across web and mobile, including responsive layouts, multiple browsers, iOS, and Android. Strong fluency with browser dev tools, network inspection, and log reading.
Bug Reporting Excellence: Writes bug reports that are clear, reproducible, and prioritized. Engineers should never have to ask, "can you give me more detail?"
Independent Judgment: Able to make thoughtful calls in ambiguous situations where specs don't cover the scenario. Knows the difference between a bug, a design decision, and a missing requirement — and when to push back on either.
Clear Communication: Excellent written and verbal English. Can explain technical issues to non-technical stakeholders and product context to engineers without losing precision.
Systems Thinking: Recognizes patterns across the product, understands how components depend on each other, and tests with the full system in mind — not just the feature in front of them.
Process Ownership: Experience building or evolving QA processes — test plans, regression suites, release checklists, bug triage workflows. You don't just work within a process;
you improve it.
Curiosity & Learning Mindset: Naturally curious about how the product works under the hood. Motivated to deeply understand new features and the third-party platforms we integrate with.
Remote Ownership: Proven ability to work independently in a remote environment, manage your own testing priorities, and own quality outcomes without close supervision.
High Standards: Won't sign off on something that isn't ready. Comfortable holding the line on quality even under release pressure, and confident defending that call to engineering and leadership.
Bonus Skills (Nice to Have)
Experience with any of the following is a strong plus, but not required:
Test Automation: Hands-on experience writing or maintaining automated tests using tools like Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, or similar frameworks.
API Testing: Comfort testing APIs directly using Postman, Insomnia, or curl. Ability to validate request/response payloads and reproduce issues at the API layer.
Mobile QA Tooling: Experience with mobile testing tools, device farms (BrowserStack, Sauce Labs), or hands-on testing across multiple physical devices.
AI Tooling & Prompt Workflows: Hands-on experience using tools like ChatGPT, Claude, Cursor, or similar AI systems to improve personal productivity, test case generation, bug investigation, or workflow automation.
Vibe Coding / AI-Assisted Development: Comfort using AI-assisted coding tools such as Cursor or Claude Code to create small scripts, internal tools, or test utilities.
Social Media Platform Familiarity: Working knowledge of how social networks behave from a publishing, API, or content management perspective.
SQL & Log Reading: Ability to write basic queries or read application logs to investigate issues at a deeper level.
