French-Speaking Accounting Controller Location: Porto, Portugal Work Model: Hybrid Employment Type: Full-Time About the Role We are looking for a detail-oriented and analytical French-Speaking Accounting Controller to join our finance team in Porto. This role is ideal for professionals with a strong accounting background who are passionate about financial accuracy, reporting, and process improvement. As an Accounting Controller, you will play a key role in ensuring the reliability of financial information, supporting reporting activities, and maintaining compliance with internal controls and accounting standards. Please note: Candidates must already be based in Porto or the surrounding area, as this position follows a hybrid working model. Key Responsibilities Perform accounting control activities and ensure the accuracy of financial records. Prepare and review financial reports, reconciliations, and accounting analyses. Participate in monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes. Monitor accounting transactions and ensure compliance with internal policies and accounting standards. Analyze financial data and identify discrepancies or areas for improvement. Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities. Collaborate with internal stakeholders and finance teams across different business units. Assist with internal and external audits by preparing required documentation and reports. Contribute to process optimization and continuous improvement initiatives. Ensure compliance with regulatory and financial reporting requirements. Requirements Fluent French (B2 level or above) and good English communication skills. Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field. Previous experience in Accounting, Financial Control, Audit, or a similar finance-related role. Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting processes. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications. Experience with ERP or accounting systems is considered an advantage. Strong analytical and problem‐solving skills. Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in an international environment. Must already be residing in Porto or nearby areas.
