Pindari WA is seeking an experienced and motivated Electrical Project Manager (EPM) to join our Building & Trades Services team on an 8:6 roster; responsible for sourcing, pricing and winning remote electrical and HVAC projects and infrastructure maintenance contracts across the Pilbara and Southwest of Western Australia. This is a hands on role, with regular site visits to build relationships, win contracts and help influence the direction for Pindari.
The EPM works closely with the Electrical Nominees, other Project Managers and leads the electrical/HVAC Teams overseeing the day-to-day business operations of Pindari’s electrical and HVAC contracts and projects. This includes multidiscipline trades maintenance and minor works services across several Pilbara mine sites and the South-West while actively seeking out new business opportunities to drive company growth. You will need extensive knowledge and experience in minor and major works project pricing, as well as coordination and servicing client infrastructure/utilities in the Pilbara resource sector, demonstrating strong leadership skills in team building and project management from conception to completion.
Key Responsibilities Include
• Develop detailed work scopes, project plans, timeline, budget, resource requirements and allocation.
• Build and lead a team of professionals, guiding them to achieve project/contract goals and contract KPI’s.
•Manage the estimating, budgeting, cash flow analysis and forecasting for electrical and HVAC projects/contracts.
• Support assessment and contribute to Requests for Quotes and Tender Bids with Senior Leadership team.
• Manage projects and contracts to ensure that all deliverables are on time, budget and within specification.
• Create and manage risk and opportunity registers.
• Champion stringent safety protocols, promoting Pindari Way Values and safety-first team culture.
• Manage projects across full lifecycle including QAQC compliance, proactively addressing challenges.
• Coordinate with all stakeholders, fostering strong client relations, ensuring satisfaction across project and contract engagements.
• Use industry and operational knowledge to influence positive project outcomes.
• Collaborate with/support Senior Leadership Team members and perform other functions related to the office of the EPM or as may be requested by the Director or CEO.
• Travel to client and team locations and sites on ad-hoc basis in support of contracts and project work
Experience and Qualifications
•Unrestricted WA Electrical Licence
•Nominee Endorsement
• 5+ years of relevant experience in the mining industry, Rio Tinto, Roy Hill and BHP preferred.
•Demonstrated relevant experience in Project Management in the resource sector, Business/PM qualifications desirable.
• Experience in Design and Construct, and/or complexing and installation projects would be beneficial to candidates.
• Demonstrated capacity to lead and manage an operational division and contribute to strategy and business development at a senior level in a FIFO based service environment.
• Demonstrated high level experience leading and managing remote teams with a diverse range of responsibilities and a proven record of fostering a culture of high performance and safety across multiple sites and blue-chip mining clients.
• Demonstrated commercial and financial acumen, and business skills in the management of electrical/HVAC tenders, RFQ’s, projects, budgets, business plans.
•Proven competency in software applications including but not limited to MS Excel, MS Word, MS Project, SharePoint, Power BI, TEAMS.
• Experience using estimating software is desirable. Able to demonstrate successful execution of electrical projects up to $10M in value and oversee trades services contracts up to $30M in value.
• Demonstrated achievement of results and ability to win work, influence, negotiate and communicate to build and maintain effective and collaborative client relationships.
• Demonstrated high level experience and a proactive approach to leading safety, risk management and compliance strategies with internal and external stakeholders.
• Proven project management capability, with the ability to multitask, manage multiple projects and stakeholders across several sites and clients in defined timelines.
• Extensive knowledge of minor works building and trade services management processes means and methods.
• Expert knowledge of Electrical/HVAC products, construction details and relevant legislation, rules, regulations and quality standards.
• Extensive knowledge of approvals processes required by all authorities/stakeholders prior to and during work on building and construction sites.
• Demonstrated senior experience developing and managing relationships with internal and external clients, business partners and stakeholders.
• S26 Supervisor certification beneficial
• Experience with Aboriginal Employment, and Engagement Programs is highly desirable.
