The Datadog Agent is software that runs on customer infrastructure and supports a wide range of platforms. It collects observability data from hosts and sends them to Datadog, where our customers can analyze their monitoring and performance data. As a Senior Systems Engineer, you will enable the entire Agent Organization of 100+ engineers to develop and release high-quality Datadog Agent releases by improving our CI platform, tooling, processes, and coding practices.
At Datadog, we value our office culture—the relationships, collaboration, and creativity it fosters. We operate as a hybrid workplace to help our Datadogs create a work-life harmony that suits them.
What You’ll Do:
1. Lead the evolution of the Agent Supply Chain, focusing on security, reliability, and speed.
2. Support the growth of the Agent, welcoming new products and engineering teams, and providing a robust platform for development, testing, building, and releasing the Agent.
3. Participate in release and deployment processes, continuously seeking ways to improve lead times and reliability.
4. Drive changes in tooling, workflows, and culture to maximize velocity and engineer happiness.
Who You Are:
1. A seasoned engineer with 5+ years of software development experience, proficient in one or more programming languages (Go, Python, Java, Rust, Ruby).
2. Experienced with build pipelines, CI systems, release tooling, and Linux/macOS packaging.
3. Keen on improving developer experience.
Datadog values people from all walks of life. We understand not everyone will meet all the above qualifications on day one. That's okay. If you're passionate about technology and eager to grow your skills, we encourage you to apply.
Benefits and Growth:
1. New hire stock equity (RSUs) and employee stock purchase plan (ESPP).
2. Continuous professional development, product training, and career growth opportunities.
