Job Summary
The role of Regional Expert Input and Medical Education Director is a critical position within the Global Medical Affairs (GMA) team, responsible for advancing patient care through scientific exchange with external stakeholders.
* This director will oversee the execution of regionally driven expert engagement programs, including medical education, advisory boards, and expert input forums across therapeutic areas within a specific geographic region.
* Key stakeholders include regional and local teams, as well as headquarters personnel, external vendors, and healthcare professionals.
Responsibilities:
* Organize and execute compliant regionally initiated programs, ensuring adherence to company and country policies and regulations.
* Oversee multiple therapeutic areas, requiring in-depth knowledge and understanding of franchises' key priorities.
* Partner with stakeholders to plan, design, enable, and oversee programs for the region and franchise.
* Ensure conflict-of-interest screening, contracting, program execution, and close-out, while meeting all compliance metrics.
* Manage execution of some programs onsite, determined by priorities and capacity in agreement with stakeholders and manager.
* Provide oversight of budgets across multiple franchises, aligning business and scientific objectives with regional priorities.
* Ensure processes, systems, and operational elements comply with internal policy, industry standards, country regulations, and compliance metrics.
* Maintain expertise and knowledge of compliance requirements within the region, serving as a key contact between local country Medical Affairs and Compliance functions and regional and global teams.
* Inform guidance, standard operating procedures, and standards across the region, tailoring as required by region.
* Act as a consultant to business groups and stakeholders, advising on strategic and compliant expert engagement programs.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* Bachelor's or Master's degree in science, business, healthcare, or related field.
* 4-6 years of experience in medical affairs, sales and marketing, scientific leadership, or related area.
* Strong compliance knowledge, including industry rules and requirements, and understanding of complex regulatory dynamics worldwide.
* Advanced project management skills to oversee high-volume regional advisory boards, expert input forums, and medical education programs.
* Effective communication and interpersonal skills to frequently communicate with internal stakeholders, agencies, and vendors.
* Business, financial, and scientific acumen to understand marketing, medical strategy, and life cycle management of all franchises.
* Strong leadership skills to facilitate, moderate, or lead planning discussions at all levels of the organization.
* Ability to provide solutions ensuring full compliance with company policies and applicable laws, regulations, and codes of conduct.
