As a Buyer, Manufacturing (North America), you will be a key partner to manufacturing and laboratory sites, ensuring reliable supply of technical goods and services while driving value, efficiency, and sustainability. Operating at the intersection of procurement, engineering, and operations, you'll balance day‑to‑day execution with longer‑term sourcing strategies, shaping supplier relationships, managing risk, and enabling smooth operations across the Americas manufacturing network.
Your key responsibilities
* Act as the primary procurement partner for manufacturing and laboratory stakeholders, balancing operational needs with strategic sourcing objectives.
* Execute sourcing, tendering, negotiation, contracting, and contract management activities for technical goods and services (Opex & Capex).
* Collaborate with category managers to implement regional and local procurement strategies.
* Manage supplier performance and relationships to achieve cost, service, risk, and sustainability targets.
* Ensure compliance with procurement policies, P2P processes, and supplier qualification standards.
* Leverage data, analytics, and digital procurement tools to improve transparency, performance, and decision‑making.

You bring
* Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, or related discipline.
* 1-5 years' experience in procurement or supply chain roles, within a manufacturing environment required.
* Exposure to MRO and/or Capex sourcing, including supplier negotiations and contract management.
* Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence without authority.
* ARIBA experience in procurement and supplier management preferred
* A proactive, resilient, and collaborative approach, with an interest in sustainability and responsible sourcing.
The salary or hourly wage scale provided reflects the pay range dsm-firmenich expects to pay the successful candidate for the position. Individual pay offered will be based on the applicant's job-related skills, experience, relevant education, or training, and primary work location. Salary $100,000-$115,000.
In addition to base salary, we also offer a comprehensive total rewards package, inclusive of annual incentive pay, a retirement savings plan, health care coverage, paid time off, recognition programs and a broad range of other benefits.
