PROFILE OF THE CANDIDATE
You will be the first dedicated FP&A hire in a lean, high-impact finance team of 6, reporting directly to the CFO and replacing a fractional FP&A lead who has helped build the foundations. Your mission: turn data into decisions. You will own the company's SaaS metrics engine, build the forecasting and budgeting infrastructure, and become the person everyone turns to when they need the real numbers.
What WILL YOU BE DOING?
SaaS metrics & ARR reconciliation: Build and maintain the single source of truth for ARR, NRR, churn, CAC, LTV, ARPA, and customer concentration across two product lines.
Forecasting & variance analysis: Develop monthly and quarterly rolling forecasts; conduct rigorous variance analysis against budget and present findings to the CFO and Board.
KPI dashboards & automation: Design and build automated dashboards that replace manual reporting. Extract data from NetSuite, CRM, and operational systems using SQL/Python; automate ETL pipelines.
Customer cohort & churn analysis: Deep-dive into customer economics, such as cohort behavior, cloud migration uplift tracking, expansion vs. contraction dynamics, and concentration risk monitoring.
Budget process support: Partner with department heads on annual and quarterly budget cycles; build bottom-up models for headcount planning, revenue forecasting, and scenario analysis.
Board & investor reporting: Prepare monthly board packages and PE investor materials with the precision and polish expected by institutional investors.
Covenant compliance support: Assist in debt covenant calculations and testing (total net leverage, cash flow projections), real leveraged finance, not textbook exercises.
WHAT WE EXPECT FROM YOU?
This is a hybrid role. If you are "just FP&A" or "just data," this is not for you. We need the intersection.
Must-Have
3–5 years of experience in FP&A, financial analysis, or data analytics — ideally in SaaS, tech, or PE-backed environments
Hands-on SQL proficiency — you can query production databases, not just pivot tables
Working proficiency in Python (pandas, numpy, or similar) for data manipulation, automation, and ETL workflows
Advanced Excel/Google Sheets — complex financial models (DCF, scenario analysis, cohort models)
Experience building dashboards and reports using Power BI (preferred), Tableau, Looker, or similar BI tools
Comfort working with ERP systems (NetSuite experience is a strong plus)
Strong financial acumen: revenue recognition, SaaS unit economics, and how a P&L connects to cash flow
Excellent English (written and spoken) — you will present to international stakeholders, PE investors, and a multilingual Board
Interest or hands-on experience applying AI/ML to finance workflows, whether that is using LLMs for data extraction, building predictive models for churn or revenue forecasting, implementing AI-assisted anomaly detection, or automating narrative reporting. You do not need to be a data scientist, but you should be the person who figures out how to make AI tools work in a finance context.
Strong Plus
Experience in a multi-entity, multi-jurisdictional environment (intercompany eliminations, FX, consolidation)
Exposure to leveraged finance or PE reporting (covenant calculations, compliance certificates, lender reporting)
Background in data engineering or analytics engineering (dbt, Airflow, or similar ETL/orchestration tools)
Familiarity with SaaS metrics frameworks (ARR waterfall, NRR decomposition, Rule of 40/X)
Track record of implementing AI/ML tools into FP&A processes (e.g., predictive forecasting models, NLP-based document analysis, automated variance commentary, or intelligent cash flow projections)
