I've been working with this client for a number of years across their European hubs, and they have recently opened up a new Tech function in Coimbra where they have grown from ***** tech and engineering staff in a short period of time, and due to this growth, are looking for MULTIPLE Tech Leads to drive a number of major product development projects across squads.
This Tech Lead role is a true ***** split of Technical Hands On engineering to People Leadership.
You will remain close to the code and architecture, while also taking ownership of the team's success, wellbeing, and progression.
Key Responsibilities as their Tech Lead:
Technical (60%)
Lead the design and development of scalable, cloud-native applications using AWS serverless architecture
Contribute to and review high-quality code (TypeScript, Node.js)
Build modern web and mobile solutions using React / React Native
Own technical output and ensure engineering quality across your squad
Provide architectural guidance and drive best practices
Leadership & People (40%)
Act as a servant leader for your team—supporting, mentoring, and enabling engineers to do their best work
Take ownership of pastoral care, team wellbeing, and creating an inclusive, high-performing culture
Support career development, progression planning, and regular feedback cycles
Help engineers grow through coaching, 1:1s, and personal development plans
Foster a collaborative environment across Product, Design, and Engineering
