What GIMM seeks
: At this moment, GIMM is looking for
2 (two) Histology Technicians
to join the Histopathology Platform coordinated by Joana Ferreira Rodrigues, under the research project
UID/**********
funded by National Funds, to execute the following activities under the supervision of Joana Ferreira Rodrigues:
Planning, implementing, and controlling multiple stages of analysis and treatment of biological tissues for histology.
Applied histology in human, organoid, and animal models (e.g., Danio rerio, Drosophila melanogaster, Mus musculus).
Planning, implementing, and controlling complementary techniques such as histochemistry and immunohistochemistry.
Sample preparation for paraffin embedding, cryo-microtomy, vibratome sectioning, and related methods.
Providing user training in paraffin techniques, cryo-microtomy, vibratome sectioning, immunohistochemistry, and complementary techniques.
Collecting samples for DNA/RNA extraction using both kit-based methods and spatial transcriptomics.
Profile Of Candidate
We are seeking a highly motivated professional with the following qualifications:
The position is intended for professionals with a Bachelor's and/or Master's degree in Pathological Anatomy, Cytology and Thanatology, or Biomedical Laboratory Sciences, or other similar training considered suitable for the duties of the role.
Strong interest in advancing skills in histology and molecular biology techniques.
Good oral and written English skills, with excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
Motivated and eager to learn in a dynamic research environment.
What GIMM offers
: GIMM offers an outstanding working condition including a full-time and Unfixed-Term Employment contract predicted to start in May ****.
The contract has an estimated duration of 12 months and may be extend to a maximum of 4 years.
Gross monthly salary starting at 1.
245,00€ in accordance with the project budget and internal regulations as well as Holidays and Christmas allowances subject to the current mandatory taxes accordingly to Portuguese Labor Law.
A meal allowance will also be paid in the amount of 7,80€ per working day.

Evaluation Criteria
: Applications will be evaluated by Joana Ferreira Rodrigues (President of the Jury), Pedro Faísca and Ana Laura Vinagre in accordance with the following method:
1 st Phase: Curricular evaluation (25%) and Motivation Letter (25%);
2 nd Phase: Interview (50%).
Only the candidates who score at least 40% in 1 st Phase, will be selected for Interview.
The interview will be conducted in English.
In the event of a tie, the decision will be responsibility of the President of the jury.
Results
: Both admitted and excluded candidates list and final classification list shall be communicated to all admitted candidates through email.
Preliminary Hearing And Final Decision Deadline
After notification, all candidates have 10 working days to respond.
Panel's final decisions are pronounced within a period of 90 days, from application deadline.
The present call is exclusively aimed at filling the indicated vacancy and may be terminated until the homologation of the final candidates' ranking list and expires with the respective occupation of the position on offer.
