This role will support the hardware engineering team working on control electronics for Brushless DC (BLDC) motor applications.
Role Overview
We are looking for a Laboratory Technician to join our team in Porto. This is a great opportunity for someone passionate about electronics and eager to work hands-on in a lab environment, supporting the development and testing of cutting-edge embedded systems.
In this role, you will assist our engineering team with assembling, testing, debugging, and validating electronic prototypes and test setups. You will also be responsible for maintaining the laboratory infrastructure, improving test benches, and ensuring the inventory of components and equipment is well-organized and up to date. Your work will contribute directly to ensuring our products are reliable, functional, and ready for real-world applications.
Key Responsibilities
* Assemble and rework printed circuit boards (manual soldering of SMD and THT components).
* Support the setup and execution of functional, validation, and EMC tests.
* Operate lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, power supplies, signal generators, and multimeters.
* Perform functional tests on products and prototypes according to defined procedures.
* Improve and maintain test benches and lab setups to support ongoing development.
* Keep component and equipment inventory organized and updated.
* Ensure proper maintenance, calibration, and organization of lab instruments and workspaces.
* Collaborate closely with engineers during product development and validation stages.
* Contribute to the documentation of test procedures and results.
Requirements
* Technical education in Electronics, Mechatronics, or a related field (e.g., vocational training, CET, or equivalent).
* Experience handling electronic components and using lab instrumentation.
* Ability to read and interpret basic electronic schematics.
* Basic knowledge of embedded systems and testing procedures.
* Strong attention to detail, hands-on approach, and proactive attitude.
* Intermediate English proficiency (spoken and written).
Nice to Have
* Previous experience in R&D or product development environments.
* Proficiency in manual soldering and PCB rework.
* Familiarity with lab organization systems or inventory management tools.
