We are looking for a Senior Accountant to join our finance team in Braga. This role will be responsible for accounting and administrative activities across both Portugal and the United Kingdom, requiring strong knowledge of Portuguese accounting and tax regulations, as well as the ability to work in an international environment. The position starts with a 9-month contract, with the opportunity to become permanent.Key ResponsibilitiesManage accounting activities for Portugal and the UKEnsure compliance with SNC and support UK accounting requirements (UK GAAP)Perform monthly and annual closingsPrepare and review tax and statutory filings and ensure compliance with Portuguese (VAT, IES/DA, Modelo 22, SAF-T PT) and UK tax obligationsLiaise with tax authorities and external advisors in PT and the UKExecute payroll processing for Portugal and the UK, including coordination with external payroll providersReconcile and analyse general ledger accountsContribute to process improvements and standardisation (e.g. invoice automation)RequirementsCertified Accountant in Portugal (Contabilista Certificado)Minimum 5 years of experience in accountingStrong knowledge of SNCAdvanced level of English (spoken and written)Basic knowledge of UK GAAP or willingness to learnHands-on experience with financial software (SAP, Primavera, Xero, or similar)Strong Excel skillsAbility to work independently across multiple jurisdictionsNice to HavePrevious experience managing multi-country accountingExperience in international or multinational environmentsExposure to group reporting or UK entitiesWhat We Offer9-month contract with a strong possibility of a permanent roleCompetitive salary and benefits (meal allowance and medical insurance)International and collaborative work environment.
