Team and Role Overview

The Customer Delivery team is scaling rapidly due to increased client wins and demands. We are seeking a Technical Consultant with relevant work experience in the capital markets or at a financial software company. You will be part of a team of consultant which will be designing, implementing, and supporting the solution to the Client. You will act as a key player in the successful delivery of client's solutions.

Typical Technical Analyst Day

1. Follow up on pending items (Jira)
2. Meetings with clients (Requirements, support, demonstration, training …)
3. Design/Implementation of the solution: Configuration and customization (Custom Code, Messaging, and reporting templates)
4. People development: eLearning, documentation, presentations, certification
5. Defining and improvement of best practices

Responsibilities

6. The technical consultant will then typically follow up with the users to test the implementation, achieve signoff, and continue to move the system toward go-live.
7. In-depth, hands-on involvement directly with customers implementing our system.
8. Act as a point of contact between Customer Delivery and Research & Development and Calypso Cloud Team.
9. Work directly with the customer project team implementing the system and assist them in implementing their users' requirements.
10. Assist developers in understanding the API required to extend the system, add data to the system, and build interfaces between our and external systems.
11. Train users and customer developers on the basic use of the system, particularly with the technical setup.
12. System installation, including Java JRE download and installation, relational database installation, data model installation and upgrade scripts, setup, and configuration of the event-driven framework, configuration of real-time market data feed, etc.
13. Work hands-on with the system, configuring it and testing that it meets the customer's technical requirements.
14. Work with the business analysts, core development, or customer development to code prototypes of enhancements to ensure they will meet business requirements.

What we value

15. Some relevant experience working in systems or technical analysis using Java and SQL, preferably in the capital markets industry.
16. Experience with softwares as REST API, RMI, J2EE, Spring Boot, Docker, and containers are considered a plus.
17. Being autonomous, proactive, and be able to self-train yourself with our eLearning platform.
18. Good level of self-management, time management and follow up on daily tasks.
19. Excellent object-oriented analysis, design & development skills.
20. Knowledge of relational databases and SQL including working experience with PostgreSQL and/or Oracle.
21. Experience designing/building front-to-back capital markets trading systems will be especially valuable.
22. Expose yourself through your work to become a point of reference within the Customer Delivery Organization.
23. Good interpersonal skills. The person in this role will spend significant amounts of time working hands-on educating and training customers, and patience will be key to success.
24. Business-level English is required.
25. Willingness and ability to travel frequently (if needed).
