Role Summary
We are looking for a Documentation Matching Analyst to join a high-performing Back/Middle Office team within a major global Investment Bank based in Lisbon.
The Matching team performs a critical control role in the timely reconciliation of bookings with clients' confirmations. In this role, you will support the Trading and Sales desks by verifying the integrity and accuracy of bookings and managing subsequent operational risks across various products (vanilla, exotics, complex structures) and asset classes (Foreign Exchange, Money Market).
This position is open to junior profiles with a strong motivation to develop a career in financial markets.
Key Responsibilities
* Check Front Office bookings to ensure all trades are accurately captured in the systems and align with client documentation (verifying dates, values, and rates).
* Verify and match legal confirmations (electronic and/or physical) according to ISDA definitions, approved templates, and industry best practices.
* Ensure correct archiving of incoming confirmations and monitor workflows to prioritize timely matching.
* Identify, investigate, and resolve financial and/or legal discrepancies on incoming confirmations, escalating issues effectively when necessary.
* Maintain daily interaction and excellent relationships with external clients to resolve queries and meet expectations.
* Collaborate daily with Front Office (Trading and Sales), Legal, Compliance, IT, and international operational hubs (including Paris, Montreal, and Singapore).
* Contribute to continuous process reviews and control improvements, focusing on Straight Through Processing (STP) and risk management.
Requirements & Qualifications
* Languages: Full fluency in both English and Spanish is mandatory.
* Technical Knowledge: Understanding of financial instruments, market operations, and familiarity with ISDA definitions.
* Soft Skills: Strong analytical mindset, proactive attitude, excellent communication, and ability to work effectively under tight deadlines.
* Experience: Prior experience in banking operations is a plus, but Junior profiles with the right technical baseline and motivation are highly encouraged to apply.
Working Conditions
* Schedule: US Shift / EST (13:30 - 22:30 Lisbon Time) - Mandatory requirement.
* Work Mode: Hybrid. Please note: To ensure proper onboarding and training, the first 3 months of the contract will be fully presential/on-site.
