We are seeking a skilled and motivated Technical Capability Manager to join our team.
This person will act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) and/or Subject Owner (SO) for developing training solutions to meet the maintenance requirements supporting our operational commitments in each region, In line with EASA Part-147/Part66 & Part145 regulations.
A key focus of this role will be an ongoing maintenance technician needs analysis, forecasting the required pipeline of technicians, identifying gaps and then establishing the required training and development interventions, aligned with our Part 147 organisation, required to address these needs. This includes the creation of aviation maintenance career paths.
You will be required to work with maintenance leaders across the group to identify needs and personnel requirements to maintain capacity to operate effectively and safely.
The selected candidate may be based in Lisbon, Portugal.
Key responsabilities
* Design, deliver, and oversee maintenance training programs.
* Develop a comprehensive curriculum for the Maintenance Technician certification program, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
* Guide the creation of engaging instructional materials to be delivered both online and in person.
* Conduct instructor-led training sessions for cohorts of trainees, utilizing a variety of instructional techniques to facilitate effective learning experiences.
* Design an apprenticeship program to provide trainees with the knowledge and experience required.
* Establish a forecast of technician requirements and develop a strategy for meeting these needs.
* In conjunction with HR, develop career paths for technicians, utilising the Global footprint of Avincis to achieve.
* Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including subject matter experts, aircraft engineers, and maintenance technicians, to incorporate practical, hands-on experiences into training programs.
* Instil a strong culture of safety and adherence to protocols in all training activities.
* Continuously assess the effectiveness of training programs and make recommendations to address evolving industry requirements and feedback from trainees.

Required qualifications
* Qualified aviation maintenance technician or similar .
Required experience
* Experience with the regulatory framework of EASA's approved skills training programs, supporting certification of aircraft mechanics/technicians In both rotary and fixed wing operations.
* Experience of engineering & certifying in a Part145 maintenance environment with a thorough understanding of Part145 regulations.
* Understanding of manpower regulations and general understanding of the role of CAMO, Planning, Quality, Part21 and Part145 MOE.
* Proven compliance with international aviation laws and regulations (EASA, FAA, ICAO).
* Strong risk management and strategic planning skills.
