This role is ideal for someone early in their career who is eager todevelop their skills in mechanical design and engineering.
You will work closelywith our UK and Portugal teams, supporting design tasks, producing drawings, andassisting in project execution.Key responsibilities as a Junior Mechanical Design Engineer will be to:
- Support the production team with design-related queries
- Work closely with the UK and Portugal team with a balance between designing and producing drawings from existing designs.
- Work closely with designers and project managers
- Support the Operations Manager in Portugal
- Ensure the most cost efficient production
- Organise packing plans and shipping
- Develop and maintain relationships with our local partners
- Support the local procurement team
- Develop new procedures to further optimise manufacturing capabilities.
- Contribute to the development and improvement of the manufacturing processes supporting the Process Engineer.Required expertise to succeed as a Junior Mechanical Design Engineer will include:
- Some experience or internship in mechanical design, preferably in industrial automation, conveyors, or material handling.
- Must have the ability to understand and review technical designs
- Strong verbal & written communication skills in Portuguese and English
- Microsoft Office skills
- Familiarity with Autodesk Inventor or other CAD software (training can be provided).
- Some electrical understanding may be useful, but not necessary
- Relevant mechanical degree is preferred or equivalent professional experience
