Offer Description The University of Coimbra is inviting applications for a research grant under the project "Portal Reservas da Biosfera, Territórios sustentáveis, Comunidades resilientes" (R3) with one position(s). The call is governed by the Notice of Opening, the University of Coimbra Research Grant Regulations (RBI-UC), the Research Grant Regulations of the Foundation for Science and Technology (RBI‐FCT) and other applicable legislation.Eligibility and Admission RequirementsMaster's degree holders in Biological Sciences, enrolled in a non‐degree‐granting course.The non‐degree‐granting course must be related to the activity covered by the grant (as defined in Decree‐Law 74/2006 and RBI‐FCT).Ineligible candidates: those who have already benefited from a grant contract and, with this assignment, exceed a total accumulated period of two consecutive or non‐consecutive years in this type of grant.Eligible nationalities: Portuguese, other EU Member States, third‐country nationals, stateless persons, beneficiaries of political refugee status.Grant Location Department of Life Sciences, Faculty of Science and Technology, University of Coimbra.Scientific Supervision / Coordination Helena Maria de Oliveira Freitas and Joana Alexandra Silva Alves.Work Plan / Goals to be AchievedDevelop the activity "Children for the Earth: Biosphere Reserves Edition" by producing podcast episodes with primary‐school pupils in each Portuguese Biosphere Reserve to publicise the mission and heritage of the reserves and incorporate children's perspectives on the territory and sustainability.Develop and apply questionnaires to parents and teachers of participating classes, analyse qualitative and quantitative data to assess the influence of family and school contexts, and support result interpretation.Produce, update and provide scientific content on biodiversity and ecosystem services for the Biosphere Reserves Portal, ensuring technical and scientific adequacy and consistency.Develop participatory dynamics with the Biosphere Reserves and the general public, including dissemination, environmental‐education actions and public presentation of project results.Initial Grant Duration and Renewal 6 months, with possibility of renewal.Funding and Financial Conditions Monthly grant amount: 1,359.64 € (paid by bank transfer at month‐end).Voluntary social security (SSV) is included for grant periods of six months or more, at the candidate's option, plus mandatory personal‐accident insurance.Funding source: Fundo Ambiental.
