Financial Controller
This role will oversee the financial strategy and accounting operations, working closely with senior management and external stakeholders to ensure accuracy, compliance, and insightful reporting.
* Lead financial operations in Portugal, ensuring accurate and timely reporting (AP/AR, general ledger, reconciliations, journal entries).
* Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual closings, including group consolidation and financial reporting.
* Serve as the primary point of contact for external audits, ensuring compliance with all statutory and regulatory requirements.
* Ensure full compliance with local Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), tax legislation, and regulatory frameworks, in collaboration with tax advisors and relevant authorities.
* Drive and maintain internal controls, process improvements, and documentation of standard operating procedures (SOPs).
* Provide financial insights and strategic support for investment, fundraising, and commercial decision-making.
* Monitor KPIs, performance metrics, and support budgeting and forecasting activities.
* Manage and enhance financial systems and tools, including ERP platforms (e.g., Business Central, Navision).
