Research Initiation Grant for graduates -3 VACANCIES

A call for tenders is open for (3) three Research Initiation Scholarships within the scope of the project EU GREEN - European University alliance for sustainability: responsible GRowth, inclusive Education and Environment (ERASMUS-EDU-2022-EUR-UNIV-2) cofinanced by the European Union through the ERASMUS Programme, under the following conditions:
Scientific areas: Social Sciences, Computer Engineering or Maths
Admission requirements:
a) degree in Management, Economics, Mathematics A pplied to Economics and Management or Computer Engineering;
c) very good level of written and spoken English, duly proven. Knowledge of other languages will be valued;
d) experience in organizing events and working as part of a team;
e) good interpersonal relations, strong initiative, dynamism and willingness to travel abroad will be taken into account as preferential factors;
f) other professional experience that is relevant to the tasks to be performed will also be valued.
According to FCT Research Grants Regulation No. 950/2019 of December 16, 2019, article 5, - BII (Initiation to Research Grants) cannot be awarded to those who have already benefited from research grants directly or indirectly funded by FCT, awarded under the Research Fellowship Statute.
Work plan: The selected candidates will be responsibles for:
1. Support for activities that are currently critical to the project, namely testing the various modules of the AGORA platform, managing the AGORA platform, supporting mobility procedures, and helping to organize BIPs (Blended Intensive Programs).
2. Management and promotion of EU GREEN Alliance activities;
3. Support for the University of Évora's participation in the EU GREEN Alliance;
4. Support for the local coordination of the EU GREEN Alliance;
Applicable legislation and regulations: The granting of the Research Scholarship will be carried out upon the signing of a contract between the University of Évora and the scholarship holder, according to the version in Annex I, pursuant to the Research Scholarship Statute (Law No. 40/2004 of August 18 and Decree-Law No. 123/2019 of August 28) and in accordance with the legislation and Regulation of Research Grants of the Foundation for Science and Technology, IP in force, regulation nº950/2019 of December 16, 2019: https://files.diariodarepublica.pt/2s/2019/12/241000000/0009100105.pdf and other applicable rules.
Place of work: The work will be developed at Employability, Community and Transversal Projects Division of the University of Évora, under the general coordination of the Administrator of the University of Évora and the scientific guidance of the PhD Hernâni Oliveira, who must draw up an opinion on the final activity report of the scholarship (Annex II), according to the draft in Annex III.
Duration of the scholarship(s): The scholarship will have a duration of 3 months, starting on the July of 2025. The scholarship contract may be renewed up to a maximum of 12 months.
Selection methods: Selection will be based on the merit, experience and availability of the candidates in accordance with the admission requirements. The jury reserves the right not to select any candidate if the applications submitted do not meet the profile requested.
Composition of the Selection Jury:
Advertising/notification of results: The final results of the evaluation will be publicized, through an ordered list by final grade obtained posted in a visible and public place in the University Rectory, being the candidate (a) approved notified through email.
To ensure the right of prior hearing of interested parties, the Final Classification project will be announced by any written means to all interested parties.
After communicating the provisional list of the results of the evaluation, candidates have a period of 10 working days to express their opinion in a preliminary hearing of interested parties. Based on the final ranking list, a reserve selection list will be drawn up, to be used for the possible recruitment of new scholarship holders within the scope of this project, up to the duration of the scholarship, which may be used in the eventuality of the first ranked candidate withdrawing, failing to present the mandatory documentation, or in the event of the scholarship holder cancelling their scholarship early. In the eventuality that none of the candidates demonstrates the profile required to carry out the work plan, the jury reserves the right not to award the scholarship.
Application deadline and submission of applications: The tender is open from 01 July 2025 to 15 of July of 2025 and the results of the selection will be published by 22 of July of 2025.
Applications must be formalized, obligatorily, by sending an application letter with the following documents:
1. Letter of motivation from the candidate;
3. Certificate of qualifications;
4. Other supporting documents deemed relevant.
For the purposes of application, the evidence may be replaced by a declaration of honour signed by the candidate, but the failure to demonstrate that evidence, in the contracting phase, possession of the required degree on the deadline for application or the non-presentation of proof of enrolment in the study cycle or non-degree course, for scholarships with this component, imply the cancellation of the candidate's application.
Academic degrees obtained in foreign countries require registration by a Portuguese Institution in accordance with Decree-Law no. 66/2018, of August 16 and Ordinance No. 33/2019, of January 25th.
