We are seeking an experienced Pastry Chef with two Michelin star experience to prepare a variety of desserts, pastries, and other sweet goods. Your skill in baking high-quality treats should be matched by your creativity to develop new and exciting tastes and recipes.
The ideal candidate will be well-versed in culinary arts with a passion for sweet and delicious creations. They must adhere to health and safety standards to provide clients with the best possible service. The goal is to enhance customer satisfaction to maintain and expand our clientele.
Responsibilities:
1. Prepare a wide variety of goods such as cakes, cookies, pies, and bread following traditional and modern recipes.
2. Create new and exciting desserts to renew our menus and engage the interest of customers.
3. Decorate pastries using different icings and toppings to ensure beautiful presentation.
4. Monitor stocks for baking ingredients and make appropriate orders within budget.
5. Check the quality of materials and the condition of equipment used for cooking.
6. Guide and motivate pastry assistants and bakers to work more efficiently.
7. Identify staffing needs and help recruit and train personnel.
8. Maintain a clean and orderly cooking station and adhere to health and safety standards.
Requirements and Skills:
1. Proven experience as a Pastry Chef, baker, or in a relevant role.
2. Great attention to detail and creativity.
3. Organizational and leadership skills.
4. Willingness to enhance professional knowledge.
5. In-depth knowledge of sanitation principles, food preparation, and baking techniques.
6. Working knowledge of baking with ingredient limitations (e.g., gluten-free, sugarless pastries).
7. Certificate in culinary arts, pastry-making, baking, or a relevant field.
