Job description:

Role Purpose

Fujitsu is looking for a talented, driven Junior System Engineer to join a growing Technology team working in a collaborative international context. The role holder works under limited supervision, detail-oriented, effective, you will use your expertise to monitor and maintain IT systems. You will focus on virtual environments, backup systems and computer networks.

You will install, configure, service and maintain information technology systems in both Virtual and physical server environments.

You will also participate in technical research and development to enable continuing innovation within the organization and ensure that system hardware, operating systems, and software systems are fully operational.


• Technical Capability

Works within a team as an established systems/product specialist (e.g. detailed knowledge of the configuration of interlinked systems, implementing technical changes, building software regimes and contributing technically to service development).

The systems in place are based on VMWare Virtual platform, Microsoft OS, Cisco networks, Veeam backup platform, on premises/Cloud.


• Process

Understands project management and collaborates with engineers and project managers to build a lasting operational framework.

Follows established processes, releasing to the change control process verified, validated and documented enhancements to eliminate problems and proactively improve the service.


• Problem Solving

Takes ownership in obtaining the information, evidence and data required to diagnose and resolve more complex problems, Escalates or gains support where appropriate.

Proactively analyzes, trends and reports on information in a timely manner to resolve problems, maintain and enhance service.

Proactively proposes improvement actions to increase system performance and optimization.


• Business Awareness

Understands the requirements of the Business, the scope of the services and knows how issues impact the delivery. Recognizes and reports opportunities to team manager and other relevant parties for additional business.


• Professional Development

Maintains awareness of technical and service developments, taking the initiative to extend own knowledge to learn about products, technologies and techniques to deliver enhanced service.

Key Performance Indicators

· Correct implementation of central and local projects within agreed timescales.

· Evidence of sharing and re-use of knowledge.

· Correct management of processes followed to deliver the service.

· Technical Assessments.

· Improvement/enhancements to service delivery.

· Known errors with workarounds or fixes loaded in knowledge database.

Competencies

· Degree or technical certificate in Computer Science, Information Systems, or Equivalent Professional experience

· Knowledge of Virtual and Network technologies and concepts

· knowledge of Microsoft OS and Cloud environments

· English mandatory

Preferential skills

· Experience in Virtualization Technologies, VMWare and/or Microsoft

· Experience in Backup and Storage Technologies
