The Transformer submodule is part of Vestas R&D, contributing to making current and future wind turbines more efficient and cost-effective by developing electrical power transformers. This involves being E2E responsible for the development and maintenance of components according to full value chain requirements.
Your daily work will be within a broad network of stakeholders and together with electrical specialists you will create plans and project timelines.
Responsibilities:
* Provide guidance and support to other CAD designers within the department.
* Create conceptual 3D models for high-voltage (HV) transformers, switchgears, and cables.
* Work closely with suppliers to ensure compliance with Vestas requirements.
* Engage with various stakeholders to align interfaces and ensure seamless integration.
* Evaluate all designs against the highest standards of quality and accuracy.
* Maintain detailed documentation of designs, revisions, and compliance measures.
Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
* 5 years of experience in CAD design. Experience with hardware such as transformers, switchgears, and cables presents an asset.
* Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., Creo Parametric, AutoCAD) and experience with 3D modeling. Experience with PDMlink (Windchill) and BOM management.
* Understanding of HV transformers, switchgears, and cables.
* Relevant certifications in CAD design or engineering are an added value.

* High leadership skills to support and mentor other CAD designers.
* In-depth knowledge of CAD software and 3D modeling techniques.
* Advanced verbal and written communication skills to interact with suppliers and stakeholders.
* A high level of accuracy and attention to detail in design and documentation.
* Ability to identify and resolve design issues effectively.
* Great interpersonal skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams and external partners.
