ABOUT US:Laista Group is a Lithuanian-owned group of companies providing workforce leasing, payroll administration and back-office services to clients in various countries.ABOUT THE POSITION:As our business continues to grow, we are expanding into Portugal, where we plan to offer the same services and build a local team.
We are looking for a practical, independent and business-minded Country Manager who will establish and develop our operations in the country from the ground up.In the initial phase, this will be a fully independent role: you will oversee the setup of the local entity, manage organisational and administrative matters, liaise with institutions, and select external partners (payroll, accounting, legal, HR services).
This position is ideal for someone who is comfortable with hands-on work and capable of structuring operations from scratch.RESPONSIBILITIES:Establishing the Portuguese entityLead the entity setup processes.Represent the company in local institutions.Ensure compliance with labour law, temporary employment regulations and other requirements.Building the operational structure (initial phase – independently)Select, negotiate with and manage external partners (payroll, accounting, legal, HR).
Create documentation, internal procedures and operational standards.Manage preparatory organisational and administrative tasks.Team formation (later phase)As operations grow, form a local administrative/payroll-support team.Define roles, responsibilities and workflows.Relations with institutionsMaintain communication with Segurança Social, AT, IEFP and others.Represent the company in legal and compliance matters.Growth and developmentGrow the business in line with shareholder objectives.Plan and organise local market operations.Develop activities related to third-country workforce deployment in other countries.
Collaboration with Group managementDirect reporting to the Group CEO.Provide regular updates on progress, risks and next steps.Align local processes with group standards,WHAT WE EXPECT FROM YOU:Have experience as a payroll oversight manager, head of finance or in similar roles in Portugal.Experience in staffing industry would be considered as big advantage.
