Technical Leadership and Project Management: Opportunity for Professional Growth
The Technical Support Manager plays a pivotal role in leading all Improvement Engineers, overseeing a significant team management component along with a strong project management focus and technical expertise. This position involves achieving maximum machine potential, making it highly relevant. Moreover, training a multidisciplinary team on equipment and processes is essential, as well as maintaining an updated record of all changes made during project execution.
The Technical Support Manager will provide guidance to electrical, mechanical, and automation engineers & technicians throughout all stages of project development. This position demands a leadership style with regular presence in areas of responsibility. He/She will assess the feasibility and priority of projects and establish appropriate indicators to measure the success of each initiative. His/Her goal is to identify the best approach to maximize benefits while minimizing resource and financial investment.
Maintaining KPIs up-to-date, detailed cost tracking, and regular status updates on project progress are also key responsibilities of this role. Collaboration is crucial; the Technical Support Manager will work with a multidisciplinary team, including Quality, Operations, IT & OT, Ramp-Up, and Toolshop, to analyze the feasibility, cost, complexity, impact, and other variables of proposed projects. He/She will analyze technical data related to machines, such as scrap rates, speed, time between failures, and availability, to make informed decisions and provide effective troubleshooting solutions to the improvement team.
Key Responsibilities:
* Continuously explore possible machine improvements to increase performance, reduce scrap, and downtime of the machines
* People leadership
* Document all improvement opportunities and communicate this information to management
* Define and scope all improvement projects with the Improvement Engineers, including stakeholders and deliverables
* Define and track the KPIs of all improvement projects
* Provide regular project updates to all stakeholders to inform about strategy, adjustments, and progress
* Guide initiatives to get projects back on track when needed
* Predict required resources to reach objectives and manage resources effectively
Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree in Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or relevant area
* 5-6 years of experience in Improvement Processes (machines)
* 2-3 years of experience in Project Management
* Familiarity with project management tools, methodologies, and best practices
* Native Portuguese language skills
* Good communication skills in English (B2 level)
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
* Strong teamwork and communication abilities
* Ability to interpret technical drawings (electrical, mechanical)
* Knowledge of AutoCAD, Inventor, or SolidWorks
* Six Sigma certification is a plus
