We are currently looking for a new member for the Licensing & Urban Planning team to join us in the position of Project Specialist, Licensing & Urban Planning.
Working Place: Sonae Sierra's Central Offices in Lisbon
Requirements
* Degree in Architecture, Urban Planning or Law;
* 3–5 years of professional experience in urbanistic matters, preferably within the real estate development and management industry;
* Solid knowledge of licensing procedures and urban planning regulations;
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
* Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment;
* Fluency in Portuguese and English (spoken and written).
Role Description
Project Specialist, Licensing & Urban Planning
This role is primarily responsible for the management and monitoring of licensing processes related to real estate development projects. The position ensures the timely delivery of approvals, strict application of urban planning rules and parameters, and effective coordination with design teams, internal stakeholders, clients, and public authorities (such as municipalities). The specialist plays a key role in guaranteeing compliance with requirements, producing the necessary reports, and supporting the smooth progression of projects.
Responsibilities
* Lead and manage licensing processes, ensuring deadlines are met and all urban planning parameters and regulations are correctly applied;
* Coordinate with architects, engineers, and other project designers to align project documentation with licensing requirements;
* Interact with internal teams, external clients, and public entities (e.g. municipalities) to facilitate approvals and resolve issues;
* Provide technical advice on licensing and urbanistic matters related to real estate development and management projects;
* Draft, review, and negotiate documents, descriptive memories and agreements related to licensing and urbanistic matters;
* Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, as well as internal policies and procedures;
* Prepare and deliver reports necessary to monitor the progress of licensing processes and projects;
* Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to ensure smooth and effective project development and management.
