Job description:This Plan includes a Finance (F&S) portfolio of programes and projects, among which an initiative to capture significant efficiency gains within the Finance EMEA teams in charge of Level 1 accounting controls and Economic vs Accounting P&L reconciliations.
Those teams belong to the Lisbon Infinity Platform and are named "SMS Capital Markets Products (SMS CMP)".
The efficiency gains that are expected will be captured by putting in place automation tools.
Those tools should enable to decrease dramatically the size of manual work within accounting control teams.The causes for the amount of manual work observed in accounting control teams are numerous but can be summarized into two main categories : 1/ a sub-par utilization of available desktop tools (Excel, Power Query, Power BI) and 2/ a lack of automated recurring procedures,As a consequence, the GM Resilience F&S leads and sponsors wish to reinforce the accounting control teams with additional resources capable of driving and securing the implementation of automation tools.
Expected services:Pre-requisite : before the start of services, Finance management and GM programme leads will have identified the processes where automation tools are expected to deliver significant efficiency gains.For each process identified, it is expected that the Team performs the following activities:Sit with accounting control staff and go through all the steps of the current processIdentify automation opportunities and draft the overall high-level design of an automated procedure that would be developed first by themselves and later maintained by Finance usersImplement the desired automated procedure with the inputs of accounting control staff and deliver a working tool that accounting control staff can use,Document the business rules agreed with accounting control staff and implemented in the prototypeTest and validate the automated procedure with the accounting control staffObtain accounting control's sign-off based on a satisfactory use of the automated procedure during accounting closing exercises.Coach accounting control staff on using the automation tools so that they are more efficient in their day-to-day workDeliverables:Desktop assets (excel spreadsheets, power queries, power bi queries/data models/visuals)Working prototypes (excel spreadsheets, power queries, power bi queries/data models/visuals, Knime procedures, Alteryx procedures, Python scripts etc.)Business rules documentation to enable Finance IT developmentsSkills:Strong Excel skillsStrong Analytical and Development skills (Python, C...)Proficiency in one data preparation tool (Alteryx or Dataiku or Knime or other)Business analysisDesirable:Knowledge of reconciliation, reporting and financial control processesKnowledge of capital markets productsMain Tasks:Determine automation opportunitiesDesign and implement automation toolsInteract with Finance IT to enable industrialization of tools developedCoach users into using more advanced excel functions in their day-to-day tasksTechnical Skills:Data preparation tool (Alteryx or Dataiku or Knime)Programming LanguageRPA (Blue Prism or UIPath or other)ExcelLanguage SkillsEnglishSoft Skills:Business analysisProcess analysisInteracting with usersAnalytical mindsetProject management
