Overview
WIT Software creates products and solutions for the Telecom industry and has a very strong background on Messaging, IP Voice and Video, Unified Communications, Telecom VAS services, IPTV and Mobile Money. The company has 23 years of existence and works with some of the relevant Telecom companies in the global market, from Europe, Japan, US and Africa.
WIT is developing an innovative software product that leverages emerging concepts from the latest generation of IMS and mobile telecommunications networks. This product has the potential for commercial distribution to hundreds of mobile operators and service providers, reaching millions of users across various geographies worldwide.
Responsibilities
* Provide troubleshooting and technical support to customers.
* Installation, maintenance and upgrading of production systems.
* Measure performance and account for growth in the infrastructure.
* Write status reports and effectively communicate the issues and status.
* Design and implement cloud-native systems – Infrastructure as Code
* Design and implement Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) processes.
* Identify, analyze and classify technical problems, correlate possible causes, conduct effective diagnosis and report issues.
* Drive continuous improvement, in areas such as monitoring, operational task automation, continuous integration, deployments and performance tuning.
Requirements
* Strong experience with Unix/Linux environments, including administration, troubleshooting and shell scripting (RHCE or comparable certification is valuable);
* Experience in an operations/support role: technical troubleshooting, customer support, network monitoring systems and ticket/incident management, resolution and escalation processes.
* Experience with container technologies and cloud-native infrastructures – Including platforms such as Kubernetes, Docker, AWS ECS/EKS/EC2 or other equivalent platforms.
* Strong experience implementing infrastructure as a code on cloud-native environments, preferably with tools like Terraform / OpenTofu.
* Good knowledge of infrastructure scaling applications such as Karpenter;
* Experience with systems automation/build tools, such as Ansible, GitHub Workflows, GitLab CI, or other equivalent tools.
* Strong experience in observability, including expertise in monitoring, logging, and tracing.
* Strong experience with tools such as Prometheus, Thanos, Fluent Bit, Loki, Jaeger, Grafana, Open Telemetry, or similar technologies.
* Good knowledge of using Python, Bash, or other scripting languages to develop observability and automation solutions.
* Good knowledge of configuring and managing DBMS/RDBMS such as MongoDB, AWS DocumentDB, Oracle, Postgresql, etc….
* Good knowledge of cloud systems architecture and their implementation.
* Good knowledge and experience with AWS are highly valuable (AWS-certified solutions certification or comparable certification is desirable).
* Good knowledge and experience with IP networking, VPCs, subnets, switching, firewalls, and load balancers (CCNA or comparable certification is valuable).
* Knowledge of distributed cache systems like Hazelcast, Redis, etc.… and event streaming tools such as RabbitMQ, Apache Kafka/ Red Panda, etc... is valuable.
* Must be able to multi-task and work well under pressure.
* Capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
* Capable of prioritizing and managing own workload.
* Fluent in English, at all levels.
