We are recruiting a SRE (Site Reliability Engineering) to join an project with a client in the retail sector.
Main Responsibilities:
- Provide support for application reliability, focusing on identifying and resolving issues related to system performance and stability.
- Ensure the smooth operation of various IT systems, understanding their functionalities and integration within the ecosystem.
- Utilize tools like SQL, Kibana, Elasticsearch, Prometheus, and Grafana to monitor systems, identify problems, collect evidence, and determine root causes.
- Propose and validate logs and metrics to detect potential issues.
- Suggest enhancements to logging, metrics, and alerting systems to improve monitoring efficiency.
- Recommend platform and tool improvements to streamline daily operations.
- Adapt communication style to various stakeholders, including business teams, engineers, and other departments, ensuring clear and effective interactions.
- Share insights with teams to foster a culture of continuous learning and proactive problem-solving.
Requirements:
- More than 3 years' experience in SRE (Site Reliability Engineering) application support
- Knowledge of the following technologies: SQL, Kibana, Elasticsearch, Prometheus, Grafana, AWS and Shell
- Knowledge of collaborative platforms: Jira, Confluence and GitLab
- Ability to understand several different systems, their functionalities and where they fit into an ecosystem
- Passion for monitoring, analysing problems, gathering evidence, identifying causes and finding solutions
- Proactivity in proposing and validating logs and metrics to detect possible problems
- Proactivity in suggesting improvements to logging, metrics and alarm systems in order to do their job better
- Proactivity in suggesting improvements to platforms and/or tools to help with day-to-day work
- Able to adapt speech to the various stakeholders with whom you interact (business, engineering, etc.)
- Retail experience/knowledge is a plus
- Willingness to travel to Porto, Azambuja and Madrid
- Willingness to carry out on-call prevention.
