We are seeking a Quality Assurance Specialist to lead our supplier quality management initiatives.


Job Description:

The successful candidate will be responsible for executing supplier quality rescue projects, developing project scope and phases, and reporting progress and results. They will also support the team in Brazil on issue investigation, action plan implementation, and supplier visits.

The Supplier Management area ensures quality, efficiency, and compliance in the supply chain. It selects and evaluates suppliers, establishes transaction processes, and manages non-conformities to maintain high standards.

The team oversees onboarding and integration, ensuring seamless incorporation into operations. Supplier quality assurance is a key focus, along with part and program certification to meet regulatory and internal standards. Additionally, the area handles change management to mitigate risks and drive continuous improvement, fostering supplier development and innovation.


Key Responsibilities:

* Manage EPPAP, when applicable.
* Support supplier selection process.
* Supplier Quality Rescue Project Development and Execution.
* Ensure project results are on schedule and meet quality standards.
* Strengthen relationships between suppliers and quality teams.
* Coordinate targets achievements for middle management meetings.
* Join top management meetings as needed.
* Initiate and lead continuous improvement activities at Suppliers.
* Apply engineering principles to improve production processes.
* Audit supplier's management of sub-supplier quality.
* Visit sub-tiers to address issues.
* Interact with Supplier's and Embraer's teams to coordinate and follow up on technical issues.
* Analyze operational, technical, and administrative matters related to parts quality.
* FOLLOW UP ON QUALITY PERFORMANCE AND APPLY CORRECTIVE MEASURES TO DETECTED PROBLEMS
* Provide regular written and verbal reports on observations, findings, and action plans.
* Perform Supplier's Quality evaluation by assessing supplier's risk and performance.
* Execute Non-conformity handling process & corrective actions.
* Execute Non-conformity costs reimbursement process.
* Executes Supplier blocking, when needed.
* Onboard suppliers to relevant tools.
* Support elaboration and adherence to APQP plan.
* Define and manage EPPAP deliverables, when applicable.
* Execute quality tools to improve supplier's performance.
* Perform supplier Quality System audits.
* Perform supplier products audits.
* Perform technical visits at Suppliers.
* Perform change management process by handling quality and manufacturing process requirements changes.
* Lead continuous improvement initiatives at Suppliers.


Required Skills and Qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree in engineering, ideally in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or industrial engineering.
* At least 5 years of professional experience in supplier quality.
* Comprehension, understanding, and execution of broad practices associated within the quality and related fields.
* Practical experience in technical problem-solving using methods such as Six Sigma or 8D.
* Practical experience in using QM core tools such as 8D, FMEA, MSA, SPC, and process capability analysis.
* Practical experience in leading several problem-solving projects in operations, suppliers, or development environments.
* Ability to set up and coordinate a problem-solving program at Supplier.
* Six Sigma Black Belt certification desired.
* Availability for national and international traveling, including for long periods.
* Bilingual fluency in Portuguese, English, and Spanish.
* Fluency in Italian and French are desired.
* Advanced level of proficiency in utilization of MS Office: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Project.
* Demonstrates client support and service quality techniques.
* Interpret and comprehend drawings, writing/communication/organization/negotiation skills, technical publications, reliability analysis.
* Ability to identify and recommend corrections to ensure parts Quality.
* Ability to provide inputs to teams on process issues that may affect overall performance.
* Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing.
* Strong communication skills, analytical and process-oriented thinking, assertiveness, and ability to deal with conflict.
