Job description
As the EPM Technical Lead, you will be responsible for the technical excellence, strategic alignment, and user adoption of our Enterprise Performance Management (EPM) tool.
Your role is to ensure the tool's robustness, scalability, and alignment with our financial planning, forecasting, and consolidation needs, while supporting its evolution in collaboration with our editor, integrator, and internal teams.
You will act as the bridge between IT and Finance, ensuring data quality, system performance, and user enablement, while contributing to the long-term EPM strategy of the group.
Key Responsibilities
EPM Technical Leadership:
System Architecture & Integration:
Oversee the technical architecture of the EPM, ensuring seamless integration with ERP systems and data sources.
Work closely with the editor and integrator to prioritize developments, resolve technical issues, and align the tool's roadmap with business needs.
Data Governance & Quality:
Lead initiatives to improve the quality, consistency, and reliability of financial data feeding into the EPM tool.
Collaborate with IT teams to streamline data flows and reduce manual interventions.
Performance & Scalability:
Monitor system performance and proactively address bottlenecks or scalability challenges.
Ensure the tool supports 12,000 users across 60 countries, with a focus on stability and user experience.
Strategic EPM Support:
Roadmap & Evolution:
Contribute to the strategic roadmap of the EPM tool, aligning it with the group's financial planning, forecasting, and statutory consolidation objectives.
Evaluate and recommend new features or technologies (e.g., AI, automation) to enhance the tool's capabilities.
Stakeholder Alignment:
Act as the primary contact for the EPM editor and integrator, ensuring their deliverables meet our strategic and operational requirements.
Partner with Finance leadership to translate business needs into technical specifications.
Change Management:
Support the adoption of new processes (e.g., transition to standardized costs, forecasting methodologies) by ensuring the tool's flexibility and user-friendliness.
User Training & Support:
Training Development:
Design and deliver targeted training programs for end-users (financial controllers), focusing on key functionalities (e.g., reporting, forecasting, data input).
Create scalable training materials (guides, videos, e-learning modules) to support global teams.
Establish a support system (e.g., FAQ, helpdesk, super-user network) to address user queries and gather feedback.
Identify recurring issues and work with the integrator/IT to implement solutions.
Track user adoption metrics (e.g., login rates, error rates) and propose improvements to enhance engagement.
Your profile
5+ years in EPM implementation, administration, or consulting (e.g., SAP BPC, Oracle Hyperion, IBM Planning Analytics, AnaPlan).
Having both experience in consulting and corporate is a plus.
Proven track record in data governance, system integration, and performance optimization in a large, multi-country organization.
Collaboration with finance teams, especially understanding of financial planning, forecasting, or consolidation processes (understanding of P&L, cost accounting, and statutory reporting).
Strong knowledge of ETL processes, databases, and ERP-EPM integrations.
Solid experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
Analytical mindset with problem-solving abilities.
Pedagogical skills to train non-technical users.
Project management and stakeholder management.
Fluency in English; proficiency in French is a plus.
