We are looking for a Java Developer to join our client's team in Lisbon under a hybrid working model.This role is ideal for experienced engineers with a strong background in Java and enterprise application development who are interested in expanding their expertise into Guidewire and Gosu, technologies widely used by leading companies in the global insurance industry.As part of the onboarding process, engineers will have the opportunity to participate in a structured, PAID, Guidewire specialization program, designed to help experienced developers transition into the Guidewire ecosystem while leveraging their existing Java engineering expertise and architectural knowledge.Following this onboarding phase, you will continue working in a permanent full-time role within the project, contributing to the design and development of large-scale enterprise solutions in an international environment within the insurance domain, using Guidewire technologies that are rapidly gaining adoption across the global market.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and maintain enterprise applications within the Guidewire platform, primarily using Gosu and Guidewire technologies.Apply strong Java engineering practices and architectural principles when implementing Guidewire-based solutions.Lead the customization and configuration of Guidewire modules to support complex business processes.Design and implement integrations, APIs, and services within the Guidewire ecosystem.Collaborate closely with architects, developers, and business stakeholders to define and deliver scalable technical solutions.Contribute to technical design discussions and architectural decisions within the platform.Ensure high standards of code quality, performance, reliability, and maintainability.Support and mentor other developers within the team when needed.Required QualificationsStrong professional experience in Java software development, preferably within enterprise environments.Experience working with Java frameworks such as Spring or Spring Boot.Solid understanding of object-oriented programming, software design patterns, and scalable system design.Proven experience building backend services, APIs, or distributed systems.Ability to work on complex enterprise applications and integrations.Interest in specializing in Guidewire and Gosu technologies.Strong collaboration and communication skills in international engineering environments.English proficiency (B2 level or higher).
