Recognized as a leading player in the Oil & Gas sector, BW Energy considers HSE & Sustainability a strategic imperative and is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented trainee to support the HSE & Sustainability team.
This role offers hands-on experience in environmental data analysis, sustainability reporting, and operational health & safety metrics.
GHG Emissions Modelling: Assist in collecting and validating activity data (e.G., fuel consumption, flaring volumes, energy use); Support the refinement of GHG emissions models using recognized methodologies (e.G., GHG Protocol, IOGP/IPIECA/API guidelines); Contribute to Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions assessments and reporting; Help maintain emissions inventories and track progress against reduction targets; Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to identify emissions reduction opportunities.
HSE & Sustainability Reporting: Track and consolidate key HSE & Sustainability performance metrics (e.G., TRIR, LTIF, near misses, environmental incidents); Contribute to the development of dashboards and reports for internal and external stakeholders; Support the improvement of reporting tools and systems; Ensure data integrity and consistency, applying validation checks and resolving discrepancies with site teams; Assist in trend analysis and data visualizations; Participate inthe preparation of sustainability disclosures aligned with frameworks such as GRI and TCFD.
Other responsibilities: Help maintain and improve the HSE & Sustainability management system; Support the rollout of campaigns, workshops, and training sessions; Collaborate with cross-functional teams to promote a culture of safety and environmental stewardship; Stay informed on relevant legislation, standards, and best practices.
Requirements: Master's degree in environmental science, Engineering, Sustainability, or other related fields; Proficiency inMicrosoft Office; Fluency in English.
Additional knowledge of Portuguese or French is a plus; Familiarity with Power BI or other data analysis tools is a plus; Awareness of regulatory requirements and HSE industry best practices is a plus; Familiarity with reporting & GHG accounting standards and HSE metrics is a plus; Strong quantitative, analytical and organizational skills; Excellent attention to detail and data management skills; Proactivity, strong communication and teamwork abilities; Passion for safety, environmental protection, and sustainable development
