ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY: We're looking for an External Programs Manager to lead the design, promotion, and delivery of complementary learning experiences and partnerships that expand the reach of TUMO Portugal — and help make the project financially sustainable.
TUMO is currently funded almost entirely by philanthropy. Your mission will be to develop revenue-generating programs that build on our educational mission — turning TUMO's spaces, team, and resources into an engine for long-term growth.
From tailor-made school workshops and grant-funded initiatives to extracurricular school programs and summer schools, this is a hybrid role combining program management, business development, program design, and operations. It's ideal for someone who loves building new initiatives from scratch and thrives in an entrepreneurial, educational environment.
You'll work directly with the Executive Team and the CFO team to launch high-impact programs that diversify TUMO's funding model and extend our mission.
WHAT YOU WILL DO: Program Development & Revenue Design Assist in structuring and refining a portfolio of external programs that generates additional revenue for TUMO (e.g., Discovery Mornings, Accelerators, Summer Schools)Benchmark market needs and adapt products for schools, municipalities, and other potential education partnersDevelop proposals for grant-funded initiatives and community partnershipsAlign programs with strategic goals for financial sustainability Outreach & Partnerships Build and manage a pipeline of client leads and institutional partners (e.g., schools, municipalities, associations)Proactively engage with leads to promote TUMO programs using CRM tools, email, phone, and meetingsCoordinate communication, proposals, and scheduling with external stakeholders Logistics & Program Execution Plan and oversee logistics and delivery of all external programs and eventsCoordinate internal teams, space usage, and resourcesEnsure high-quality execution and a great experience for all participants Process & Operations Support the design and refine operational workflows for new and existing programsDevelop tools to manage program logistics and monitor impact and satisfactionGather and analyze feedback to improve performance and outcomes WHAT YOU BRING: Pride in being a generalist and enthusiast to deal with everything from low level tasks to high level strategy;Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with a detail-oriented mindsetA mix of business sense and mission alignment — you care about both sustainability and impactCommercial drive, business-savy and communication skills to build strong partner relationshipsHigh degree of autonomy and self-drive — from concept to executionComfort operating across both strategy and delivery levelsFluent in Portuguese and English (Spanish is a plus)A bachelor's degree: Business & Management would be obvious but we're open WHAT WE OFFER: Full-time position, based in Lisbon at TUMO Lisboa (Beato Innovation District)A vibrant, collaborative team in a purpose-driven environment5 additional vacation days beyond the legal minimum50% co-funded health insuranceLearning and development opportunities to help you grow;The chance to contribute to a mission-driven organization making a difference in education.
