Job Description
We are seeking a seasoned product manager to lead the commercial strategy and marketing leadership of one of our cloud native operations product areas.
The role will be responsible for driving the lifecycle of product development, working closely with engineering leads to oversee product development, collaborating with cross-functional teams, conducting market research, analysing industry trends, and gathering customer feedback.
The ideal candidate will have experience in technical domains related to open source software in the cloud native landscape, designing or managing software operations for large scale distributed systems, and good understanding of cloud native technologies such as Kubernetes and Docker containers.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead the lifecycle of product development by reviewing priorities and goals for products.
* Work closely with engineering leads to oversee product development process.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address common challenges across projects.
* Conduct market research, analyse industry trends, and gather customer feedback.
* Develop team through coaching, mentoring and training.
* Establish KPIs for project status reporting and communicate it across Canonical.
* Drive execution excellence through continuous feedback and improvement.
Requirements:
* Seasoned product management experience in technical domains related to usage and/or management of open source software in cloud native landscape.
* Experience designing or managing software operations for large scale distributed systems.
* Good understanding of cloud native technologies such as Kubernetes and Docker containers.
* Comprehensive knowledge of common enterprise security and compliance requirements in area of software operations.
* Proven ability to lead technical teams and drive their execution to excellence.
Nice-to-Have Skills:
* Experience with CNCF projects, identity or observability systems is a plus.
* Demonstrate insatiable intellectual curiosity and passion about future of technology.
* Have strong sense of ownership and responsibility for product's success and team's success.
