People Support Hub, Manager, Europe – Wärtsilä
We are looking for a dedicated HR leader to join our team and drive excellence in HR operations across Europe. This role reports to the Head of People Support Hub and will lead a regional team of HR professionals to ensure efficient service delivery and continuous improvement in a global setting.

What you will be doing
Strategic Leadership & Vision
* Lead HR activities in PSH (HRSSC/GBU), implementing HR strategies, policies, and processes to meet current and future human resource needs.
* Adopt an entrepreneurial mindset, proactively providing direction and developing HR policies and initiatives to ensure a safe and healthy working environment, improve employee experience and HR business impact, and align people and HR capabilities with organisational objectives.
* Manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders, contributing to the success of HR processes and policies.
* Provide expert guidance to leaders and managers on people‑related matters.
* Transform and implement improvements to PSH (HRSSC/GBU) for consistent global standards while remaining agile to local requirements.
Continuous Improvement & Service Delivery
* Serve as the first point of contact for Wärtsilä employees and leaders, ensuring the best employee experience across onboarding, off‑boarding, master data, reporting and organisational structure, employment documentation, performance management, annual clock activities, payroll and time & attendance.
* Advise and guide managers with HR‑related matters, partner with them to align HR activities with business objectives, and drive supporting HR projects and initiatives.
* Monitor service level agreements (SLAs) and key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure high‑quality service delivery, addressing and resolving escalated issues and inquiries.
* Generate and analyse reports on PSH performance, identifying trends and areas for improvement and providing insights and recommendations to senior management based on data analysis.
* Drive an active continuous improvement culture, identifying opportunities for process optimisation and implementing improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness across the employee lifecycle. Utilize AI, technology and automation to streamline HR processes and conduct regular reviews of PSH operations and implement best practices.
* Ensure compliance of HR activities with existing policies, relevant legislative requirements, regulations and internal guidelines, manage risks associated with PSH operations and implement mitigation strategies, including maintaining confidentiality and data security of employee information.
Leadership & Team Management
* Lead team members, planning activities, setting objectives, performance goals and monitoring and continuously improving performance.
* Coach and cultivate the team towards achievement of business and employee objectives, supporting growth and capability development of team members and fostering an environment of continuous improvement, learning, growth and innovation.
* Enable team members to provide deep insights into their local requirements to support both businesses and employees effectively.
Qualifications
* Desirably 10 years of experience in HR, with at least 5 years in a managerial role within an HR Shared Service Centre.
* Strong knowledge of HR processes and best practices across the employee lifecycle.
* Excellent leadership, communication and interpersonal skills.
* Cultural sensitivity and the ability to lead virtual teams across different cultures.
* Proficiency in HR systems and tools, particularly SuccessFactors, Employee Central and Service Now / Zendesk.
* Empathy and a service‑minded approach.
* Passion for improving the imperfect – constantly looking for ways to work smarter.
* Exceptional communicator who is hard‑coded to keep people updated and informed.
* Demonstrate a genuine desire to make an impact on Wärtsilä people.

About the Role
As a member of the People Support Hub Leadership Team and the Europe HR Leadership, the PSH Manager Europe contributes to setting the PSH direction and achieving organisational goals, partnering and collaborating closely with other HR teams, particularly Local HR, Talent Acquisition, HR Business Partners and Centres of Excellence.
