AreaBase Portugal: Lisboa/OportoDescriptionBe the expert of products for her/his geographic area, patient treatment trends, clinical trials and scientific activities within the Disease Area and must continuously update this expertise and knowledgeAct as the first point of contact for the sales representatives regarding medical questions.Develop and maintain contacts with External Experts in accordance with the Company strategy to further understand and gain both insight and/or input into treatment patterns, including scientific activities taking place within the Disease Area and the needs & behaviours of healthcare providersProvide accurate scientific data to unsolicited scientific questions or requests posed by Physicians for approved Products/Brands, and for products in development in accordance with Company Policies, legal & ethical standardsEncourage the participation of Physicians in local studies and other scientific activitiesDevelop scientific presentations (e.g., abstracts or articles based on secondary data) under the guidance of the Disease Area Head or Local Medical DirectorIdentify and prepare speakers for BMS symposia, under the guidance of Medical leadsPrepare and/or contribute to the initial and ongoing medical/scientific disease area and product‐specific training of internal BMS customers enabling the sales representatives to understand and convey the scientific benefits of a Brand appropriatelyContribute to the development of Brand Plans and Strategies by communicating medical insight and knowledge derived from Expert Physicians, other health‐care providers or scientific publications about the product or disease area, in particular with reference to patients needs and treatment trendsEnsure that BMS Pharmacovigilance Standard Operating Procedures are understood and applied by Investigators, and alert appropriate BMS personnel to any Adverse Events that are identifiedCollect investigators proposals for local and regional clinical activities, ensure that these proposals are discussed within the local Brand Team, and provide timely feedback to investigators.Support on medical activities relating to the conduct of a trial or survey, maintain scientific contacts with local investigatorsAdhere to any country specific Code of Conduct and have a strong compliance focusMust HaveHealth Science Degree (Medical Doctor will be an advantage)Experience within the pharmaceutical industry in Medical Affairs and understanding of the field medical roles.
