Job Overview
We are looking for a
Senior Java Developer
to join our consulting team. The role is hybrid, based in Lisbon or Porto, and focuses on designing, developing, and maintaining Java-based back-office applications for the financial services sector, particularly collateral and cash management. You will work on complex, regulated systems and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain Java-based applications supporting back-office processes
Contribute to solutions related to collateral and cash management
Collaborate with business analysts and cross-functional teams to gather and implement technical requirements
Troubleshoot, analyze, and resolve technical issues to ensure system stability and performance
Participate in code reviews and promote best practices in software development and testing
Support system integrations within a broader financial technology ecosystem
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across development processes
Required Skills & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
6–9 years of experience as a Java Developer in complex or enterprise environments
Strong experience with Java and Spring Boot
Solid understanding of software development principles and methodologies
Experience working in financial services or regulated environments is highly valued
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team
Nice to Have
Experience with Calypso or similar financial platforms
Knowledge of investment banking back-office operations, particularly collateral and cash
Exposure to financial markets systems and large-scale architectures
