We're looking for a versatile engineer to join our client team, taking end-to-end ownership of a data-model platform and public-facing APIs. Your mission will be to design scalable data architectures, integrate statistical models directly with the database layer, and deliver high-performance, secure API services.
What you will do
* Design and version PostgreSQL / ArcticDB schemas for raw, intermediate and final model data.
* Integrate statistical models directly into the database layer using psycopg2, SQLAlchemy or ArcticDB native APIs.
* Build and maintain secure, high-performance FastAPI/REST APIs.
* Develop internal Python libraries to streamline interaction with internal and external databases.
* Optimise database performance: query tuning, indexing, partitioning, monitoring and alerting.
* Produce technical documentation, schema diagrams, and enforce best practices in version control.
* Ensure code quality standards through testing, Git workflows, linting and static typing.
