A leading multinational company in the pharmaceutical sector is strengthening its Finance & Accounting operations in Lisbon.
As part of the organization's Global Business Services (GBS), the Lisbon hub plays a key role in supporting several European markets and ensuring high-quality financial processes across the region.To support the Accounts Payable activities for the DACH region, the company is currently looking for an Accounts Payable Accountant (m/f/d) to join a growing and collaborative international team.Your New RoleAs an Accounts Payable Accountant, you will provide essential support to AP operations, acting as a backup for the German entities and ensuring the accurate and timely processing of invoices and related financial tasks.
Your responsibilities will include:Processing Accounts Payable tasks for several European entities;Receipt, review and audit of invoices;Entering, checking and posting invoices with and without Purchase Order (PO);Managing accruals and performing account reconciliations;Verifying invoice validation results in the VIM tool and proceeding according to workflow;Liaising with requesters for goods receipt confirmation when required;Handling discrepancies and routing invoices for approval as needed;Supporting payment run activities when required;Ensuring correct application of accounting standards and internal controls;Maintaining vendor accounts and ensuring accuracy of postings;Participating in process optimization and improvement initiatives;Collaborating with internal stakeholders across Europe and supporting project-related activities.What You Need to SucceedBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or similar field.5+ years of experience in Accounts Payable or Finance & Accounting;Experience in GBS/Shared Service environments (highly valued);Solid knowledge of accounting principles and cost/performance accounting;Strong understanding of end-to-end AP processes;Background in Accounting is essential — ability to interpret validations, identify errors and ensure compliant postings.Experience in SAP S/4HANA (mandatory)German and English fluency (mandatory).
