1. Job OverviewThe Production Planner reports to the Supply Chain Manager and manages the scheduling and timeliness of the production process to ensure the company meets operational deadlines that align with the long term goals of the company.
Duties include managing material and machine availability, scheduling production and monitoring & updating the production schedule whilst raising any potential supply risk proactively with the Supply Chain Manager.2.
Principal AccountabilitiesSafety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
Report any safety concerns or incidents promptlyCollaborate: Collaborate with different coworkers, teams and or stakeholders to ensure company goals are achievedPlanning: Plan, schedule and coordinate with all relevant internal departments to ensure delivery of day to day production plans and support activities to ensure that plans are in place far enough in advance to support business goalsAnalysis: Evaluate and analyse raw materials and equipment to ensure the schedule as planned can be met.
Share statistics for potential improved results and efficiencyReporting: Produce and deliver reports on production status, operational availability and ways to improve operational output.
Track operational deadlinesMonitoring: Monitor and adjust schedules to meet unforeseen conditions.
Handle operational disruptions and productivity problems should they ariseProcurement: Provide input to procurement and logistics teams to ensure the availability of raw materials to meet the production planDocumentation Maintain accurate and detailed records of planning activities, including all deviations or issues encounteredInventory Management: Assist with inventory management and operational supplies as necessaryCompliance: Assist operations team in ensuring compliance with planned scheduleCommunication: Serve as the primary information source for planning & schedulingAd Hoc: Performs additional duties requested by Manager/ManagementThe above principle accountabilities are not intended to be a comprehensive list of all duties involved and consequently, you will be required to perform other duties as appropriate to this position.3.
Qualifications/RequirementsBachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing environmentStrong understanding of production planning and quality control principlesAbility to work to tight deadlines, proactive approach to planning4.
