Untile is a digital product design and development company.
We demonstrate daily that world-class digital solutions can be crafted from Viana do Castelo and from wherever our remote-friendly team chooses to work.
Operating in cross-functional squads (1 Product Owner, 1 Project Manager, 2 Backend Developers, 2 Frontend Developers, and 2 Designers), we partner with organizations of all sizes to turn complex challenges into thoughtful, human-centered products that people love.
Our project portfolio continues to grow, so we're looking for a mid-level UX/UI designer with a strong visual design focus.
If you are proactive and comfortable giving and receiving constructive feedback, you'll help us ship polished experiences that deliver measurable value to users and the business while fostering mutual growth and excellence.
Your Job
* Translate research insights, user journeys, flows, and stories into wireframes, interactive prototypes, and high-fidelity UIs that balance usability, aesthetics, and feasibility.
* Maintain and evolve our shared design system for consistency and scalability, embedding WCAG AA+ accessibility standards pragmatically.
* Share work continuously using sketches, demos, prototypes, and other design files so the whole squad and clients stay aligned and involved.
* Facilitate workshops, critiques, and ideation sessions with multidisciplinary squads and clients.
* Present and defend design decisions, telling the story behind your solutions and integrating feedback quickly.
* Provide clear design documentation and annotations for seamless hand-off to developers.
* Iterate in short feedback loops, involving team and stakeholders early and often to refine ideas and align designs with project goals.
* Experiment with emerging tools (including AI) to improve quality and efficiency, and share learnings with the team.
What You Must Have
* 4+ years designing web, desktop, and mobile products end-to-end, with a portfolio showcasing strong visual craft and design rationale.
* Fluency in Figma and modern prototyping tools.
* Customer-obsessed mindset with the ability to clearly communicate how your designs impact users' activities and business outcomes.
* Deep understanding of interaction design principles, information architecture, layout, composition, typography, and micro-animations to craft intuitive, delightful interfaces.
* Comfort sharing and receiving constructive feedback transparently and continuously.
* Proactive, self-driven attitude able to balance productivity with creative experimentation.
* Adaptability to work within a squad, helping build cohesion, foster creativity, and innovation.
* Fluent in written and spoken English.
What We'd Love For You To Have
* Motion design, digital illustration, or data-visualization/infographics skills.
* Ability to rapidly prototype ideas, digitally and physically, and mock up concepts quickly.
* Familiarity with analytics, A/B testing, and demonstrating the ROI of design decisions.
* Explorer's mindset: question assumptions, make mistakes, learn fast, and keep an eye on the bigger picture.
* Basic HTML & CSS knowledge for effective collaboration with developers (no coding expected in the role).
* Experience leveraging AI tools in the design process.
What You'll Get
* Remote work & flexible schedule.
* Competitive Salary: €27,000 – €37,000 annual gross (includes meal, extra benefits, vacation & Christmas allowances) plus company performance bonus.
* Comprehensive health insurance & wellbeing program (including mental health support).
* Generous food allowance & office snacks/beverages.
* Extra vacation days & last-Friday afternoons off.
* Individual training budget & unlimited e-learning library.
* Flexible benefits via Coverflex (education, health, wellbeing, gym, etc.).
* Birth allowance & annual kids' education complement.
