Business Developer
to strengthen their market presence in Southern Europe and beyond.
About the Role
The Business Developer will play a key role in expanding the company's footprint in the
water sector and chemical industry
. This is a senior commercial role, ideal for someone with deep sector knowledge, strong negotiation skills, and a proven track record in driving growth from
zero to scale (0 → 1 stage).
Key Responsibilities
* Identify and pursue new business opportunities in desalination, water treatment, and the chemical industry.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and partners.
* Develop and execute strategies to expand market share across Southern Europe.
* Close first commercial contracts in new markets and scale customer acquisition channels.
* Stay informed on industry trends, regulations, and technological innovations.
* Represent the company at industry events and summits.
* Travel within the region (approx. once every two weeks).
Requirements
* 8+ years of experience
in the water technology and/or chemical industry (e.g., minerals sales).
* 5+ years of experience
in business development, sales, or commercial growth roles.
* Proven track record of delivering measurable results (revenue growth, client acquisition, market expansion).
* Experience navigating the challenges of early-stage commercial growth (0 → 1 stage).
* Strong knowledge of local market dynamics, water treatment technologies, and inorganic materials.
* Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
* Fluency in
English and Spanish
(other European languages a plus).
* Experience in startups or scale-ups is highly valued.
