NoOffer DescriptionThe Polytechnic of Leiria is now opening applications for 1 (one) scientific research fellowship (BI) within the project BLOCKCHAIN.PT – Agenda "Descentralizar Portugal com Blockchain" (WP1 – Agro-Alimentar), reference 02/C05-i01.01/2022.PC644918095-00000033, cofinanced by European funds provided to Portugal by the Plano de Recuperação e Resiliência (PRR), within the scope of the Mecanismo de Recuperação e Resiliência (MRR) of the European Union (EU), within the Next Generation EU, for the period 2021 – 2026, in the following terms:RECIPIENTS: Undergraduates in Computer Engineering, who are master's degree students in Computer Engineering.DURATION: 7 months, eventually renewable until the end of the project or the maximum duration for this research fellowship type.
The fellowship is due to start in May 2025.WORK PLAN: This fellowship consists of implementing a Hyperledger Fabric node and analysing and implementing smart contracts (chaincode) to act as an interoperability layer with a previously developed conversational agent, within the scope of Work Package 1 of the BLOCKCHAIN.PT project - Agenda 'Decentralising Portugal with Blockchain'.The following activities will be carried out under this grant:Survey of the state of the art related to the project area and its critical analysis.Analysing the architecture of Premissioned Blockchain solutions, such as Hyperledger Fabric.Implementation of the Hyperledger Fabric node and configuration of channels with project partners.Development of smart contracts to access the food traceability data in the ledger.Validation and verification of the authentication and authorisation mechanisms of this platform.Documentation and dissemination of results.WORKPLACE AND SCIENTIFIC SUPERVISION: The work will be developed at the ESTG – School of Technology and Management – Department of Computer Engineering, of the Polytechnic of Leiria, under the scientific supervision of Professors Ricardo Jorge Pereira Gomes, Marisa da Silva Maximiano, Carlos Jorge Machado Antunes and Vitor Manuel de Oliveira Pegado de Noronha e Távora.GRANT FINANCIAL COMPONENTS: Monthly maintenance stipend of 1
