Job Description:
The SAP Archiving Specialist will be part of a global Application Management support team, focusing on Archiving interfaces and SAP ILM (Information Lifecycle Management). This role involves managing all Archiving topics and related activities for our global SAP systems.
The successful candidate will have detailed knowledge of SAP Archiving standards and ILM, serving as the Archiving subject matter expert. They will implement and guide team members on Archiving/ILM initiatives, utilizing their understanding of business processes, such as sales order fulfillment, logistics, and procurement, in conjunction with SAP expertise.
Key Responsibilities:
* Analysis of Archiving/ILM requirements for our IT solutions in collaboration with internal customers and IT colleagues.
* Handling Change Requests, acting as Change Manager, in process & in tools.
* Designing Archiving solutions for Archiving interfaces, focusing on SAP Data and document archiving.
* Managing Archiving formats and retention, with a focus on information lifecycle management.
* Providing consulting services on Archiving-related topics in close collaboration with functional teams.
* Representing the Archiving team in projects, ensuring best-in-class design and implementation.
* Sharing relevant Siemens standards with external Service Providers.
* Maintaining adherence to Siemens standards.
* Identifying opportunities for processing and performance optimization.
* Ensuring that Service Providers handle tasks assigned to them.
* Supporting operational Incident & Problem Management, acting as 3rd level Support when necessary.
* Evaluating new SAP features in the Archiving and ILM area.
Requirements:
Education:
University degree in engineering/computer science or similar.
Experience:
* 5-8 years of experience in building SAP Archiving solutions.
* Knowledge of deletion and retention concepts in SAP applications.
* Excellent SAP ERP skills, with experience in SAP functional modules (Finance, Sales, Logistics) and SAP ILM (Information Lifecycle Management).
* Familiarity with SAP ABAP, SMART Forms, and Unix/Linux, with a focus on file/folder operations.
* Knowledge of SAP DART (Data Retention Tool) and SAP ILM basics.
* Able to demonstrate sound functional understanding of the SAP technical framework and business processes.
Technical Skills:
* Proficient in SAP Data and Document archiving concepts.
* Very proficient in SAP ILM (Information Lifecycle Management).
* Experience in multiple branches of industry.
* Proficient in AIF usage.
* Able to write high-quality requirement specifications.
* Demonstrate expertise in EDI/IDOC-based solution design and implementation.
* Experience in using SAP Solution Manager based Change Management.
Non-Technical Skills:
* Able to communicate and work effectively in a multi-cultural environment.
* Collaborate remotely with functional teams in Germany and the USA.
* German language skills are helpful but not mandatory.
* A self-starter, capable of working with minimal supervision.
* Taking initiative, with a firm understanding of the final goal to be achieved.
