Responsibilities:
1. Assisting in understanding and summarizing datasets to uncover patterns, spot anomalies, and test hypotheses.
2. Creating intuitive and informative visual representations of data to aid understanding and communication of insights.
3. Building and optimizing machine learning models to solve specific problems or make predictions.
4. Assessing model performance using metrics and refining them as necessary to meet business objectives.
5. Implementing models in production environments so they can be used to generate real-world value.
You must have:
1. Higher education in a STEM related field, with major statistics or mathematics components.
2. Five to ten years of experience in Data Science / ML projects.
3. Professional experience in end-to-end data science / machine learning initiatives, encompassing data understanding, preparation, modelling and evaluation, and deployment.
4. Solid command of data science concepts and principles - especially around EDA, modelling and evaluation.
5. Professional experience with Python and industry standard Python data science / ML frameworks (e.g. scikit, pytorch, keras, opencv, pandas, others).
6. Professional experience in data preparation/transformation (e.g. SQL, pandas).
7. Professional experience working with a cloud environment is mandatory, AWS highly preferred.
8. Experience with LLM, RAG, and Generative AI technologies is highly preferred.
9. Professional experience with Databricks is highly valued.
10. Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
11. Fluency in English is mandatory.
12. European Union Citizenship or Portuguese Working Visa / Portuguese Residency.
13. Availability to go to the office, once a week.
