R&D Operations Specialist
Capgemini Engineering Portugal is strengthening its operational capabilities to support the growing complexity of Research & Development activities. As part of our Technology and Innovation (T&I) team, we are expanding with a detail-oriented and proactive R&D Operations Specialist.
Mission
You will play a key role in enabling the operational excellence of T&I department, supporting the teams behind innovation delivery. This role combines structured thinking with hands‑on execution, focusing on improving how we manage, track, and report innovation work.
Key responsibilities include contributing to the design and continuous improvement of internal processes as well as developing and maintaining tools that support data validation, reporting, and decision‑making.
Responsibilities
* Design, maintain and improve operational tools to support reporting, planning, and data validation.
* Ensure monthly timesheet submissions align with planned allocations.
* Participate in the month‑end closing process, analyzing deviations from forecast.
* Manage the procurement process: request quotes, liaise with suppliers, track ETAs, update cost/revenue forecasts.
* Handle multiple administrative tasks: follow‑up of e‑mails, record meeting minutes, conduct errands.
* Support administrative workflows, including communication follow‑ups, digital documentation archiving, and access management for project files and tools.
* Conduct periodic checklists to update and validate files and procedures.
* Provide operational support to other key departmental activities, including payment requests, marketing events, and audits.
Qualifications
* Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
* Strong interest in automation and efficiency, with familiarity in Power Automate, Power Query, Power Apps and other solutions.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Teams, SharePoint, OneNote).
* Professional working proficiency in English.
* Familiarity with Capgemini policies and organization is a plus.
* Ability to cope with pressure and work with tight deadlines.
* Attention to detail and keen interest in accounting and quantitative analysis.
* Initiative, problem‑solving skills, networking abilities.
