The Business Planning & Analysis Manager work focuses on short and long-term financial planning and/or financial analysis of business operations for the purpose of measuring and forecasting future business performance. This includes:
1. Analysis of internal financial information (e.g., profit loss accounts, financial statements, working capital, costs, prices, expenses, revenues, return rates, etc.);
2. Analysis of external economic conditions and their impact on business operations (e.g., inflation, interest rates, exchange rates, market scope, etc.);
3. Financial modeling to measure and forecast potential impacts of financial transactions and corporate development activities.
He/She will be a key part of the Budget and forecast planning processes for the Surgical franchise in Region Europe and will drive productivity initiatives and achieve operational excellence in BPA. Should also ensure a robust coordination and collaboration with all the Finance organization within Europe & main regional stakeholders.
The location of the position would be flexible within Lisboa, Barcelona or Milan.
As BPA manager he/she will have a deep understanding of the Franchise strategy and resulting operational framework, in order to provide a meaningful financial perspective and pro-actively guide decision, while ensuring robust and timely financial reporting. Furthermore, it will support the Senior Manager BPA in Europe in special projects.
More detailed, the BPA Manager will:
4. Manage Region Europe P&L
5. Prepare financial plans (e.g Budget or Forecast updates)
6. Guarantee the consolidation process for Surgical Region Europe
7. Develop true partnership with the financial stakeholders in each country/cluster in Region Europe
8. Provide management with clear and objective, financial and business data, to support the decision-making process
9. Partner with the business to arrive at appropriate decisions in line with the financial objectives
10. Preparation of financial key figures indicators to support target setting for strategic plans, latest forecasts and Budgets
11. Monitor structure costs on a monthly basis and challenge profit improvement strategies
12. Deliver Business results with the ownership of the business objectives and financial plan
13. Constantly drives process improvements and productivity initiatives
14. Ensure the correctness and transparency of financial data
WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO ALCON:
Education
15. University degree in Finance or Economics or similar
16. Master in Business Administration preferable
Experience requirement:
17. At least 4 years experience in Financial Reporting with project management skills in an international environment
18. Excellent finance and analytical skills
19. Good understanding of accounting and reporting rules
20. Strong communication skills, including ability to communicate financial information to non-finance groups to drive partner engagement
Languages:
Required fluent English (written and spoken)
Local language is a big plus
