The Business Planning & Analysis Manager work focuses on short and long-term financial planning and/or financial analysis of business operations for the purpose of measuring and forecasting future business performance. This includes: Analysis of internal financial information (e.g., profit loss accounts, financial statements, working capital, costs, prices, expenses, revenues, rates of return, etc.); Analysis of external economic conditions and their impact on business operations (e.g., inflation, interest rates, exchange rates, market scope etc.); Financial modeling to measure and forecast potential impacts of financial transactions and corporate development activities.
He/She will drive the Budget and forecast planning processes for the Surgical franchise in the SPAIN & PORTUGAL cluster and will drive productivity initiatives and achieve operational excellence in BPA. Ensure a robust coordination and collaboration with the regional BPA organization
In this role, a typical day will include:
As BPA manager the incumbent has a deep understanding of the Franchise strategy and resulting operational framework, in order to provide a meaningful financial perspective and pro-actively guide decision making in true partnership with the Franchise teams, while providing robust and timely financial reporting. Furthermore, the incumbent supports the Head of Finance Surgical SPAIN & PORTUGAL for special projects.
1. Deliver Business results with the ownership of the business objectives and financial plan and full P&L
2. Manage SPAIN & PORTUGAL Cluster P&L
3. propose actions and recovery plans in case of sales shortfall
4. Drive productivity initiatives to improve profitability of the Business Unit
5. Coordinate and prepare financial plans (e.g Budget or Forecast updates)
6. Provide management with clear, objective financial and business data to support the decision-making process
7. Partner with the business to arrive at appropriate decisions in line with the financial objectives
8. Preparation of financial key figures indicators to support target setting for strategic plans, latest forecasts and Budgets
9. Monitor structure costs on a monthly basis and challenge profit improvement strategies
10. Constantly drives process improvements and productivity initiatives
11. Ensure the correctness and transparency of financial data
WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO ALCON:
Education
12. University degree in Finance or Economics or similar
13. Master in Business Administration preferable
Experience requirement:
14. At least 4 years experience in Financial Reporting with project management skills in an international environment
15. Excellent finance and analytical skills
16. Good understanding of accounting and reporting rules
17. Strong communication skills, including ability to communicate financial information to non-finance groups to drive partner engagement
Languages:
Required fluent English & Spanish (written and spoken)
Local language (Portuguese) is a big plus
