The Manager, Global
Industrial
is responsible for
providing
solutions to
industrial market trends,
customer needs and requirements. This will be
enabled
through testing
commercial
available products or expansion of the product portfolio
according
the Stage Gate process
to support the Elementis growth strategy.
Your new role:
Identifying market and customer needs by cooperation with marketing and regular technical reviews with customer.
Develop strong customerrelationshipthrough technical reviews, technicalpresentationsand discussion on ideas and innovative concepts.
Lead and guide a global team of scientists responsible for developing technical solutions by defining the requirements, designing specific application testing andassessthe technical results to be presented to the customer. Ensure and approve documentation and reporting of technical results to the organization.
Identify potential new applications for Elementis products and support commercial teams in capturing new business, assessing market trends, developing business cases, and evaluating benchmark materials.
Support trade studies to differentiate andproviderecommendations on product options and selection based on customer interests.
Support the development stage gate process for new products by providing data and technical results in all relevant stage gate process steps. Cooperate intensively with marketing, sales, product stewardship and production to ensure a successful launch of new products.
Lead technical training for commercial teams,distributorsand customers.
Support procurement and quality projects
What you'll need to succeed:
Education
: A degree in chemistry, preferably Master of Science or Ph.D. Relevant areas are Organic chemistry, Polymer chemistry, Physical chemistry,
Experience
: 10+ years of practical experience of industrial coating formulation and customer collaboration.5+ years leading R&D teams.
Additional experience in adhesive & sealants formulation and testing is desirable.
Experience in polymer synthesis is desirable but not required.
IT Skills
:Microsoft Office, Presentation software, Project management software, Salesforce, JDE, Experimental design
Language Skills
: fluent in spoken and writtenEnglish ,second language is beneficial(apart from Portuguese)
Working arrangements:
Minimum 3 days per week in the office, 5 days for lab position
Traveling required
: 25- 35% of travelrequired
This position will have a hybrid regime with a minimum of 3 days in the office. Whilst this role will be based at the Porto Hub, there will be occasions where you may be required to travel to other Elementis sites.
